Blop. Production drags it down, and it was a safe choice. MV definitely cost a lot but it's boring; it feels like she has no presence. It's reminiscent of "Solo" (both song and MV) but a watered down version.

That said, she had some nice vocal runs. Wish her all the best. It might be a hit in Korea and China, but I don't see myself playing it in the future.

Final thoughts: it's time for their in house production to evolve or they outsource. It's a poor effort from them, imo. "All eyes on me" might have been the better choice as a TT.

They should realize that they need "good" and catchy songs, too. There's no point in having good vocalists and not being able to use them properly.

3 hits from 3 different comebacks (1 year+ interval) is more difficult, especially if it's actual hits. This is mainly due to the change and trends in the music industry climate.

3 hits at a time is difficult, but I believe it's easier achieved when the artist is also known; we see that in the American market —Drake, Doja, Dua, Olivier Rodrigo, etc. We rarely see that in Kpop due to the focused promo style on TT songs.

In the case of New Jeans, majority of kpop groups haven't released 3 promoted, with MVs, songs at once so it's rare in this scene.

It's a good project, fell short due to the number of songs. Some songs felt dated, but that's expected with their breaks. Didn't have any lows, but didn't particularly have any highs. Yx3 and SD got a bit repetitive. Still not sure why they included a Solo and didn't credit Rosé, but she did great, easily could have been her TT for her solo. Surprisingly, Pink venom is the real single worthy track (Teddy really has a grip).

The girls did great, they showed out. They definitely improved from the album and showcased more, especially in THG. They just need to keep working with outside producers, the in house team are clearly becoming stale.

Overall, I like it and only skip remains RFL. Will see how it ages with more listens.

Born pink is a better project on first listen, but the approach (TT worthy tracks) to 'The Album' was better for an 8-song album. If born pink had 4 more songs with 2 TT worthy tracks, I believe it wouldn't have been debatable. What Born Pink lacks are probably TT type tracks, Yeah x3 (although, it still lacks something) might have been the better TT to shut down imo.

Ready to love as the closing track?? This might be worse than 'the Album'. Let's see how it goes, but my expectations are pretty low after the track list reveal.

Chaewon easily. Yunjin and Kazuha (She has it) are 2 and 3, respectively. Garam also stood out during her parts.

I can't see any group other than Ive winning it. Lesserafim/Kep1er/Nmixx will need a (near) national hit level song to pull an upset, the only category Ive may lack is voting (Kep1er will likely dominate) power.

Chaewon and Kazuha are the eye catching ones from the group picture.

Physical sales? Of course. Song performance? It will depend on the song, I think Ive is the only group (2020 - 2022) that killed it on the charts with their debut.

They'll be successful though, their engagements are already huge. All that's left is handling the "scandal" and good music.

This is a really good album. Escape, Polaroid, and Already are the songs that I really like so far.

For majority of the groups/soloists, doing well in the Korean market and flopping in US might be the preferred outcome due to their nationality, culture, language, etc.

But, For a foreigner, I.e. Lisa (one of, if not the only exception so far cmiiw), doing well in the WW/US markets might be the most desirable outcome as the foreigner will likely leave SK after their idol years. This may also apply to groups with more foreign members than South Korean members.

That said, from my perspective as an ifan, the WW/US markets (BTS/BP/Psy/Lisa are some examples with mainstream level success) will give the idol the bigger audience reach, popularity, pop cultural relevance, more money, and may eventually give them relevance in the South Korean market.

A toss up between Purple Kiss, Aespa and Billlie for me. (GG only)

Purple Kiss and Pixy.

Good vocals, good performance, but it's such a missed opportunity by SM. The song will likely be successful, like Savage, but it is an underwhelming song for me from the first listen. Although, I can see the 'Step back, step back' chorus being catchy. Anyway, all the women held their own and did good.

Billlie, Purple Kiss, Pixy, (G)i-dle released more enjoyable projects for me. It has been a really good year for GGs (Twice, aespa, Tri.be, Hot issue, STAYC, IVE, Weeekly and those groups I mentioned earlier off the top of my head).

"Noise" music Everglow are back! One of their weaker title, but I like it.

Not for me after the first listen, should have gone with "Take it" as the title track.

She traveled to France but had no event planned for PFW as Celine didn't have a show.

Personally from my observation, I think it's a mix of teddy and YG limiting their releases. I'm pretty sure they have lots of recorded songs but with teddy's "quality over quantity" bs you can see why it's like this.

Also their documentary last year answered any questions (there was something that teddy said, from my understanding his goal is releasing hit singles) about music, unless teddy decides to reduce his participation since he basically manages BP or they start exploring with more producers, their music releases will be limited till their contracts are renegotiated.
