But for K-pop groups
Other than twice and bp I don't think other recent and active ggs toured in bigger venues than 8k-10k yet so it's indeed great for a debut showcase

6k and 4k for each day I think
Wow so many fans there!
I don't think any other company can replicate SNSD initial run. Music wise maybe yes because there's ggs who even broke their digital records like Sistar and physicals like twice or bp but domestic popularity implies a lot more, cfs both as group and individuals, concerts in korea, TV appearances and mentions, idols and trainees who still choose them as their role models, the impact they hold till this year, etc and no other gg has come close imo
Not even if SM wanted to replicate it they could
What was the first event?
Sold out shows + already almost 250k attendees for The Link tour and it's only due to the japanese lenght of the tour. Can't wait for more dates (if SM ever bothers to annouce them...) We need to see Mark and Johnny in their home countries just like Yuta who has such a special moment performing in Osaka.
That's not new for sm tho all recent nct albums get 2-10 track videos and they all have a period of teasers, pics and some even got performances. I see this new aespa album as an extension of that because they already have two songs out before the title track. But it's also true one of them got bigger promo since it's an english release they will perform it in the US.
Even then I don't think the sole release of the video and teasers means they expected more since they do it for nct and everyone knows they dgaf about the tracks after that, some don't even get on the tour setlist
Display MoreMelon 24 Hits/Daily/Weekly charts are the only charts that matter. The old Melon Realtime and current Melon Top 100 are worthless (this is what you're seeing here).
Just go to the link below for Melon Daily Chart numbers and you'll see that LYW is a nobody in Korea. His highest UL count is 194k, no matter how crazy his fandom zombie streams or downloads, he can never top Melon because his UL numbers are terribad for a "digimon". Everyone made a big stink about him being cheated by LSRFM on Music Bank, but Fearless ended all his songs in terms of ULs. He's like a supercharged BG on steroids.
However, he CAN dominate Gaon because of its emphasis on paid downloads. That's why Gaon Digital Chart is sus, it should be renamed the Gaon Song Revenue Chart, it measures the Korean won earned by a song, not the actual popularity amongst GP. That's why you'll see him randomly hit 50 MILLION Gaon points yet he's nowhere to be found on Melon Top 10 Daily or Weekly charts.
Always trust only Melon Daily/Weekly/24Hits.
He might be fandom driven like most bgs but he's not a nobody lmao gp in korea knows him, trot is a national genre and he's one of the most popular singers, he gets high ratings, views on naver, cfs, etc that's already more than bgs. The fact his reach isn't limited to young people but older woman, families and kids tol makes him a bigger name than all the non-top groups. There might be some ggs charting higher but koreans know LYW more than any of the members of said groups. If he's a nobody then all our faves are complete flops and nugus
And what's wrong with it? At least unlike teens they don't have to ask anyone for money or skip school for it, and they are the ones paying for the internet so it's better than mass streaming done by a bunch of kids who spent their parents money. Most of his fans are older woman who already retired or have older children who don't need them anymore, it's only fair they get to enjoy themselves after years of work.
Now k-MYs can have something for them too!
It's crazy a rookie group is having their first fan event in the same venue senior groups hold their concerts. Legends!
No wonder often companies avoid promoting group members individually cause once someone gets a good solo career they end up dumping their nugu group and leaving.
Plenty of idols from non big 3 companies get a lot of solo promotions (cha eunwoo, seolhyun, wonyoung and yujin, kei, hwasa, etc) yet they never had such problems . This is more about bbc mistreating chuu and not paying her, it's THEIR fault.
