We shouldn't give idols a pass when they sing/perform bad

I don't think idols shouldn't get a pass and be given some slack but I also don't understand this argument, or when people say "let us see you do the same" or "I bet you're not any better" as a response to criticism against idols. I mean, being an idol isn't our job but it's theirs, we don't make a living by singing and dancing but they do, so of course we don't have to sing and dance well but they should.

I mean, we all have an off day. I have off days on my job too. And I've been doing it for 6 years

If them performing bad is less frequent than them performing well, then it is what is. Nobody is perfect.

In psychosocial work environment research being allowed to have a bad day (ok not to the point of dying / harmed) is the one aspect which is considered to constitute good work environment

I also think we shouldn't give boarders a pass for making bad threads, yet here we are,

it will never not amaze me how making fun of idols' looks is allowed on this forum and so many people just skate by saying the most ridiculous shit.

the issue is singing/performing bad doesn't have as much of a consequence as a doctor being negligent...

I'm a consequentialist - I judge the action by the consequences and idols singing abilities do not have as much negative consequences as a doctor for example...
