How could I not realise this until now?

Because nobody looks at 'Le Sserafim' and goes "Oh this must be an anagram for 'I'm Fearless'".
Nobody got it before the teasers showed the anagram
And I think they made it intentionally look french, or at least something towards that direction

les seraphim
Burning With Passionate Love
The word "seraphim" is derived from the Hebrew word saraph, which means "to burn." Seraphim angels burn with passion for God that ignites the fiery love that emanates from them. The Bible and Torah describe love as "a blazing fire, like a mighty flame" (Song of Solomon 8:6). -

It is actually a word... so you're not really off
-
Could be both

I thought Le Sserafim was a French reference with "Le" (which means "the").
In fact it's the anagram of "I'm Fearless". How could I not get that ?
It's both.

I already know that since their debut

anyway lesserafim in french sounds good

-
Well technically it's pronounced the Korean way and F-P merged. I know what it sounds like in French though and we don't have some of those sounds in English - but it's the uvular r. "Fame" is kind of correct, but but the dipthong is less drawn out in french.

Ah I didn't know you did phonetic classes

Your example is right, it looks like "fame" with a smaller diphtong.

Amateur polyglot - random tangentially interesting fact - I started my forum tech career on a language forum for polyglots. I'm as nerdy as they come and proud of it!

Thanks for the follow by the way! Just letting you know I don't follow anyone back since I'm an admin and it would seem like I was playing faves. But -

It's rare to see American polyglots I'm glad to meet an exception.

We all have a nerdy side so it's okay. if you have a script to alert Hardy to give me some akorns I'd be fine.

You're welcome about the follow it's well deserved.
