what age is old enough to understand?
But when is old enough to understand? They obviously have to learn about it at some point.
About 6-8 years old?
-
i think it would be weird to talk to a bunch of 6 year olds about sexuality.
i mean some lessons when kids turn 12 and start puberty is alright though i guess.
also like gender is mostly self explanatory like i think children would pick up on that naturally

No.
Your question is asking about "kids".
Let kids be kids. Only teach them about objective facts and respect. Teach them to be tolerant and respectful. Let kids grow into teenagers and let them learn about genders and sexuality in their own way, the same way people learn about religion.
The subject of gender and sexuality is quite new in the way we understand them. I do not think it's right for teachers to take it upon themselves to teach children/kids on that subject based on their personal view. Once this topic has matured enough for a more objective level then I think we can implement them as curriculum for children at least 13 or older.

I think I kind of was taught about this when I was 12.

If a kid is old enough to question their gender or sexual things, then its best to teach them.
Nothing good will come out of ignorance of anything. Some kids start questioning things earlier than their peers. In an ideal world parents would help their kids navigate these issues within their own timeline. But currently parents prefer to keep their kids in the dark as long as possible.

to be honest, i don't even about sexuality & gender and I am like 22.
my country is pretty much homophobic and only perceive gender as female, male and sexuality as heterosexual, there was like no chance for me to learn about it, am only learning it now

Of course not as kids I think like secondary school would be fine. Thats around 11 to 16 in the UK so Around 13 I think would be a fine age to teach kids about that stuff. I think alot of kids are homophobic and you have to ask why? Its because they were never really taught what it actually was.
When I was in school there was like no discussion on what even is a gay person and I think that is a issue.

Not until they're 12-13 and are in puberty. Eventually they will need to be educated on it. But I think kids before that age should not be worried about those things.

You are right very depends on the kid.
Some kids know they are trans very young.

Sexuality you can teach at young age. Gender not so much. Too confusing
With sexuality you sort of need to teach gender as well I feel.
-
Not as kids. Let them be kids. But I think it's good to teach them in secondary school (secondary school here is 7-12)
-
Yes, the earlier the age the better so they are more aware when they are older and hopefully won't have unprotected sex or a teen pregnancy. Sex education is being taught in schools earlier than in my day and that's a good thing.
