A very compelling, convincing argument on why "O.O" is a great song

  • We often discuss what defines an artist and what separates an artist from an idol.

NMIXX girls were given an unorthodox, strange, bizzare song that would sound grating upon first listen, but they made the most out of their crummy situation and turned this into an amazing, catchy song.

Despite the lackluster chart performance, all of the members continued to put their entire selves into their performances, whether it's the choreo or the vocals. They could have easily gotten discouraged, but they chose to persevere and thrive. They don't have control over what song they'd perform, but they make sure to absolutely slay it when it comes to what they could control.

With "O.O" alone, they've managed to demonstrate true artistry. If you're any half-decent at singing, you could hit the karaoke machine and sound like a superstar with a great song. It takes much more skill and dedication to make a bad song sound good, and that's what these girls accomplished!

If there's an example of what I'm talking about, it would be this. Every member put in 100% and delivered an amazing vocal performance.

Utimately, "O.O" is the perfect representation of making the most of your situation and using what you have to rise above adversity. These girls will do some great things in music, trust and believe. You'll know when they get a great song.

    :yesr:

  • It is what it is. xD You can give a negative opinion if you want!

Actually the girls are extremely talented and for real, their behavior of giving their best even though the song was so much hated is really worth praising! Buuuut this just shows how great they are, not the song.

The song is still bad (obviously my opinion.. sorry), their great performances didn't save up the song, it just showed how JYPE wasted their debut with a weird song. They already proved their talent, and really early tbh, but it is still a pity bc they have an amazing capacity of doing way better with a way better song.

I can respect that perspective, too! I wouldn't say it's too far from how I see it.

K-pop as a whole has a bunch of skilled, talented, and dedicated people singing and dancing to music they didn't write, but I love that they fully embrace it and do what they can to make it uniquely theirs. That's artistry to me. "O.O" is the perfect example of this, and that's why I think it's a great song that represents everything I love about K-pop.
