That really was awful and CL's solo career too
I could never blame Minjy. In fact, I never did. She was fed up.

What happened?
Surprised you don't know, it's a very infamous event in kpop.
SNSD were due to have their 10th anniversary CB in August so it was anticipated event. However during the months leading up there were talks about contracts and possibly some leaving. Nothing concrete but speculation was always there. Sones were ready to accept this could possibly be the last ever full SNSD CB. But at the very least no one thought that wouldn't get in the way of a CB. Right? Right? How foolish we were.
Things that SM did during the CB:
Produce a limited quantity of albums and never have any hope restock. SNSD managed 150k in the first couple weeks which was in course to become one of the their best sellers. By 3rd week however you couldn't order it anymore and any Sone who pre ordered had their purchase cancelled via email.
The 2nd title track All Night had it's "official" MV as an extended documentary with the girls speaking about SNSD in random parts of the MV. It was nice and sentimental but surely that should've been released AFTER the actual all night MV.... Which got released a few days later. This one isn't major as the rest but still annoying.
SNSD promoted a grand total of 3 days. Yup you read that right. 3 days. The crazy thing was that was NONE of the girls or staff were aware, they thought it was the normal couple weeks. Turned out SM cut their promo short deliberately without any heads up. We'll get to why at the end.
SNSD were headlined to perform at peace concert around the time and all the promo for it had SNSD as the lead act. It was also to be televised for the country to see. So it's a big deal. The girls performed and fan cams showed it. Come to the actual TV broadcast SNSD was nowhere to be seen in the first half. The intermission during the broadcast promised SNSD soon. After the 2nd half still no SNSD. Then the end of the concert and that was that. They were totally cut out of broadcast. Everyone blamed the broadcaster MBC (which was weird as MBC was extremely biased for SNSD in the past and would regularly allow SNSD to appear or host on shows, they had no beef at all) but they revealed they were asked to cut SNSD by a certain label. Didn't take a genius to figure out out was SM. Yes SM sent SNSD to perform at the concert then cut them out of the broadcast on the last minute.
After the 3 day promo was over a week or so later SM made some statements about Tiffany and her wanting to go to America. This was a very obvious sneaky move to blame contract negotiations on her. Tiffany in particular had also gone through her filter scandal a couple years earlier so she was the easy target for SM to blame. This was the smoking gun.
Finally about a month later all was revealed. Three members were leaving SM, not just Tiffany. There it was, the final piece of the puzzle. Now it all made sense.
So it turned out that because not all of SNSD renewed in the months leading up SM sabotaged their entire CB. Everything they did from not sticking albums to cutting their promo short was to punish all of SNSD for not renewing. They were ready to make Tiffany the scapegoat too even though Sooyoung and Seohyun were also leaving. SM really went the extra mile to try to appear to give SNSD the CB they deserve but bts do everything they could to ruin it. Why even give them a CB if they knew not all were going to renew? Why waste all that time and resources only throw all of it away a week in? Nothing made sense, SM did it all out of pure spite. Like I said biggest act of sabotage in kpop.
Tldr. Not all of SNSD renewed in the months before so SM sabotaged the entire CB to punish them.

Belift got on my nerves with the way they wrongly classified Enhypen's Dimension : Answer album which affected their charting and how they didn't shoot any MV for a b-side neither from Dimension : Dilemma or Dimension : Answer.
ikr also how enha could have been the first kpop act to have a gold certification on RIAJ on their debut album since they have sold 100k copies in Japan alone but belift fckd up
