Why do some people dislike songs with too much English?

Wut? I was just expressing surprise and asking a question, not disliking them for it lol. Although i might have some criticisms about Soyeon's pronunciation, i gotta listen to the whole album first.

(G)I-DLE is never really where you expect them to be. Last year HWAA had zero English. This time there's more of it. Who knows about next time? Just enjoy the song.

From comments I've read about the English in Idle's Tomboy, the gripe is with the pronunciation and grasp of the language.

I do like Tomboy though, it reminds me of Garbage (for the young ones around here - it was an awesome band back in the 90's). But the lyrics are meh.

I'm an ARMY but personally I haven't enjoyed most of BTS' releases recently for a similar reason - specially PTD.

I like kpop because it takes a twist on western music. But when it starts to sound too much like western music it's not that interesting anymore. Personally I miss the days when most of BTS' music was composed in house with Slowrabbit, Pdogg, etc. Nowadays they use mostly western producers and although some things are very good (Black Swan is one of my favorite releases by them, EVER), it sounds waaaaay too polished and not as raw or different anymore.

Because it's supposed to be K pop.

Fair complaints i found : pronounciation can be bad at times, sometimes feel forced, and lyrics tend to deteriorate with more english.

Because it's an obvious sell out to appease non Koreans, TWICE has started to annoyingly do this in their Rap Verses for their Korean Songs.

for me, who strongly dislike "tomboy", it's not about the amount of english, but about the grammar, pronunciation and cohesion of overall lyrics of it all
