There are many incredibly good artists (female / male) and many have careers like no other. However, G-Dragon's career impresses me like no other.
This man has made his group one of the most legendary Kpop groups of all time, has given his company Big 3 status, and is still topping popularity lists and Google searches (Top 10 mostly) even years later, even though his debut was in 2006 and his last real comeback was in 2016. He spendt two years in the military, which means he was inactive for a long time, and then he comes with his Nike shoes that sell out worldwide in a short period of time.
I would claim that he is not THE best in any area, but he is the total package. He can sing, rap, write songs, has a good eye for trends, is good with fashion and looks good. He just brings everything a good artist has to have and puts a cherry on top. He is respectful and friendly. (What I find special about him is that he even bows 90 degrees from Juniors. Politeness is very important in Asian culture, but it is unusual for a senior to bow so deep to a junior).
Most idols lose popularity and success over time, especially when they are called into the military, but G-Dragon seems to be an exception. I am sure that whenever we are blessed with a new album from him, that it will be one of the most successful albums of the year.
But G-Dragon is not the most idols, right? He's definitely the king of Kpop and I don't see any solo act changing that in the long run. At least until now. The future will show if I'm right.
