Is stanning worth it, if it makes you a bitter person?

  • Does stanning a group or kinda of a music really worth it if it makes someone more bitter?

Since alot of kpop fans in general sounds just bitter, I wonder if its really worth it to them.

Whats the point of doing anything voluntarily, whether its being part of a fandom or other hobbies, if it makes you bitter rather than adding joy to your life?

  • no lmao

i don't think any of your hobbies/interests should affect you (negatively) as a person.

if it does, then you probably need to step away for a bit and collect your thoughts.

  • well I saw a lot of bitter people on internet generally, not just in kpop

So I don't think kpop or kpop groups has any hand in bitterness or attitude of a person. that person will be bitter even places outside of kpop and matters not related to their group.

Fully agree with this. If something is hurting you, directly or indirectly, you should take some steps to distance yourself from it if needed and possible. Have a great day/night!

  • Thank BP I'm a sweet lover kkkkk

About being bitter, i think some just love to be toxicity and all of it so it's not actually about "enjoying" for them, it's just them liking to feel superior bc irl they aren't exactly like this. An illusion, i guess? A cover up for their failures? Something like this.

I think it’s more that those people were generally bitter before they stanned. The stanning, especially if they hang out with similarly toxic people, just gives them a direction to focus their general dissatisfaction.

I think some people use kpop as a punching bag of sorts to get their anger out and feel superior to someone else as a hobby

Fighting is a common human trait and some chose K-pop as their battleground

I agree with all of these takes. I’m sure people who know me on here know that I’m forever an optimist and almost never actually bitter, so I was confused when I read the post. I try my best not to be bitter or toxic. Have a great day/night!

  • Nothing is worth making yourself that bitter over, especially for an extended period of time, but linking that bitterness to "stanning" is a non sequitur IMO. There are many things the cause this and it is partially right to say stanning can cause this as well as the root is a fixation affecting you negatively. However, just stanning alone does not make it a foregone conclusion that the person will become bitter.

  • K-Pop seems to involve a lot of rage from certain parties, much like sports. Both also seem to involve grown adults arguing with people and then a 15 year old comes in and roasts them. :pepepizza:

  • I think people can be bitter just in general life so stanning a group doesn't really have anything to do with it. Some people just seem to have a chip on their shoulder and like to blame everyone around them for their own shortcomings both online and irl.

  • not personally but then again I'm not a bitter person and I don't enjoy those things that those people do..

but I'm sure that those people get a kick out of whatever they do and secondly I'm sure many aren't bitter by it even though we might see it as such
