Why are fromis_9 so popular among men in the military?

Visuals and their songs are fun, good to play in tough times

They've always had a unnervingly high number of fanboys compared to other girl groups. I think like 90% of the people that went to their fanmeets were men

yeah but i wonder why their sales are not so good? Groups that are that popular with fanboys like Twice, Izone has really good sales but fromis is not doing as good.

Even with Twice, 16 and their debut was marketed towards female fans. Even after they switched to cute, they still kept a decent male-female ratio.

Idol School was pretty drastically catering to the attention of men and so were fromis's earlier innocent concepts

They are from an audition show, id school might not have been hit with intl fans like produce. 101 but it was hot with men. They Also have that thing twice used to have in their trending days, cute songs with great visuals to boot. Once they have a hit song , it’s game over

Lovelyz and gfriend disbanded, and the next group in the ranking was fromis, so most of these fans went to stan them + they really fit what korean males like in ggs.

Well, yes - fromis 9 is completely cute and their videos are blissfully free of the faux masculine "tough girl" act girl crush concepts require. Men don't like watching girls act like teenage boys - and there are far too many companies which - now that sexy concepts are disfavored - try to sneak sexy under the radar by hiding it behind aggression. I guess they think that makes the concepts acceptable to feminist critics.

But as a fan of Gen 2/3 sexy concepts, I find this current "bad boi" trend so irritating that I would rather watch cute concept groups - and right now fromis 9 is the best one.
