Easy, why keep talented and young girls when you don't plan to debut them? SM has so many trainees and if they only wanted to debut 4 ofc many of them will lose the opportunity to debut there, and it will be cruel to keep the girls while not planning to debut a new gg in the upcoming years.

Chaehyun just didn't have a place in aespa, they already had 2 vocals and they needed rappers who attracted ifans
