I feel like lately multis just grew more attached to one group, made them focus mostly on one group even though they support others too. Pandemic might be one of the reasons - people started having financial problems, it became harder for kpop fans to support their faves financially so those who did - they focused on their ult group. And I guess that's when they grew more attached to that one specific group that now they seem more like casual stans of the other groups.
Most multis nowadays stan 2-3 groups. What I notice is that many people start to stan only one group too which is something I noticed only about bts years ago but now we have people who stan only txt, only enhypen, only aespa and etc.
Bottom line - yeah I think ifans grew similar to kfans and began to support/prioritize only one group
