I've tried to re-listen to Next Level several times to see if my opinion might change. But I still think it's an awful song so imma go die on that hill.

I like their debut song, but the more they have speak-singing and rap lines mixed with weird background sounds, less I like their music.

yep it has, before I was like meh new SM group where the songs aren't my taste but cute members
I had no interest but watched bits of their ep on knowing bros and they're great singers
I'm hoping for a comeback that'll fit my taste or maybe some osts, I love their voices

I will admit that it did. I was not a fan of the ae aspect in the beginning (and still kind of cool to it) and I will admit that Black Mamba was very underwhelming when it dropped. Giving them Forever as a follow up was a misstep imo. Over the spring, Black Mamba did grow on me, but the tipping point where I started to come around was when they went all in on the concept with the SMCU episode and Next Level. The Savage mini album sealed the deal. I don't know if I'd call myself a full fledged MY, but aespa has certainly joined the ranks of the groups where I'm more than just a casual fan.

I have no particular opinion about them at the beginning but I love them as soon as Black Mamba was released. It's a great song and I love aespa almost immediately.

I was a huge fan of them from the beginning, black mamba and next level are songs that I listened to about 10 times a day. seriously. era savage, I don't know, my ears are bleeding for some reason, even though the instrumental is great, so I distanced myself a bit this time. maybe a little disappointed. I mean, they released an album, so now that balance between the voices could be broken because each of them had their title song with a dominance. still it wasn't a good idea.
I think a little bit that I have moved away from this era, but still watching closely what they do individually, so I guess no change after all. I just let go and look forward to the next comeback while listening to the next level. lmao
