Korean music industry physical sales are at an all time high. Not even 90's compares to this decade for Korean physicals. Korea is the only music market in the world which is growing in physicals. All the other world music markets are declining.... even Japan.

I know saying that BTS paved the way is really triggering for other kpop stans. They see it as a black & white statement that denies everyone who came before them. The road the Hallyu Wave is on is a group effort. We know BTS didn't start it. But it's undeniable BTS paved many significant extensions of that highway. That bypass to the West was widened and extended by them. Recognizing someone's achievements doesn't have to mean dismissing another's.

I just don't get why it is triggering so many people when Armys say that BTS paved the way. As you said, BTS didn't start it and Armys never said that. Maybe it was a bit unnecessary to bring up the topic, but I just wanted to say that I respect BTS for what they have achieved and how that helped following groups and that I think that they definitely "paved the way". Paved the way doesn't mean that other groups have only success in the west because of them but that BTS success helped other groups and made it easier.
They have my fullest respect.

I never understood the gimmick of combining albums just to get a million seller title. Even gaon doesn't count that . Like before Her, no one was even close to selling million. But companies (SM) have using the "million seller" term since 2013.

First, EXO does have million-seller albums. But BTS’ LY: HER is listed as the first album (without a repackage to help increase sales) since 2001 to reach $1 million in sales.

not true. Exo was only a million seller when they combined with their repackaged album which is a thing mostly only sm do with their to try and make their sales seem bigger than they are. Exo didn’t have a million seller album without a repackage until 2018 with don’t mess up my tempo
