well I cannot stan a group just for their music alone so there has to be more than just music since I like a variety (and dislike a variety) of music thus it has to be the idols themselves that make me a fan and it's usually their looks followed by their personalities!!!

Neither. I want something in between-with visuals holding more importance.

Talent > Visuals for me since practically every damn group in K-Pop has visuals, I'd end up stanning everyone. Talent's what makes you stand out to me.

Tho they honestly do need SOME visual appeal/aspect too at least in their MVs need to be interesting, otherwise why am I stanning idols when I can stan real singer/songwriters lol who actually really know their craft? (I don't btw, I only stan K-Pop idols...but y'all know what I mean LOL)

But if your charisma/music is fire I can overlook a little bit in either category.

If your music legitimately sucks tho, like completely, (/objectively good pop music but concept's completely not my taste), I can't stan you either way

Anyway, my biases are usually the member I consider who has the best combo of both in the group. That or the one with the personality I relate to the most, or the image/concept I love the most (like usually the most badass member).

(To be COMPLETELY honest, being SUPER iconic in pop culture helps too. 😂 But not always a requirement (see CLC or Dal Shabet, no offense in the slightest lol).

Anyway, thanks for reading my essay (to anyone who did ;P)

i prefer a balance, but i think deep down everyone is in it for the visuals and catchy music, i dont care if my faves cant sing amazingly live, all that matters is that they perform well.

Songs

My first bias group was Sistar and people used to shit on their visuals but I stuck with them because of their songs and talents

Then there's also 2NE1 where people also shit on their visuals but I be like EH EH EH EH EH EH EH 2NE1 EH EH EH EH EH EH EH

Ultimately it is the songs that got me to love my groups. Not even really vocals because you can have the best vocals but shit songs.

And there is Day6 now, with a combination of everything. They write their own songs, they play their own instruments, they sing amazingly and their personalities are great. Visuals are an extra bonus blessing that they have. It's a combination of various factors that got me to really stan em and even buy their albums because I know every single album they do they do it with hardwork and love

The music/vocals and personalities. Visuals mean nothing if they have the personality of a rock.
