GP 999 what is the point?

  • Vote every day for your Favorite, manage to get the whole 7 votes in before the Final

And then realize, that with just 1 single vote on One day of the week from any Korean is STRONGER than your entire weeks voting combined

And they can also vote every day for their Favorite

    What is even the point?

It is looking like the Vote ratio will be around 10 to 1, that is 10 times as many International Votes but each only worth one tenth of a Korean Vote

Girls Planet 999? should change the name to Korea Planet 10:1

  • yeah for this round the ratio matters even more than earlier

also it's a pity beacause if much more Koreans would be voting then the ratio will be smaller

  • how many times are y'all going to say the same thing a slightly different way?

Girl shut up already. We get it you want an all Korean lineup, the rest of us however want a fair lineup with the best girls in it & want our voices heard instead of a terrible lineup happening thanks to Kfans nationalism

  • I hope they do something to help save the lineup tho. Do a 9 pick live vote or something

Cuz I’m not feeling how it is from the interim results

  • There clearly was a disconnect between the way the show was marketed, particularly to non-Korean audiences, and what is apparently going to result.

I get why MNET, a Korean company that makes by far most of its money in South Korea, would want a group they think will succeed in their home market, and thus gave Korean voters an outsized weight in terms of their votes. The thing is, clearly the concept of a possibly mostly international group, something which in theory would have been possibly, given that 2/3 of the contestants would not be from South Korea, was more exciting to I-fans than locals, and that has created a huge disconnect.

  • They probably think that this is going to be Koreans vs Global (which consists everyone in the world except Koreans) so they thought it's better to make Koreans' vote to weight more. Or maybe because they just don't want half of the group to be foreigners.

  • What has happened is the number of Korean Voters has gone down since the start of the show and the number of International Voters has gone up, Mnet didn't predict this

It would be natural to assume that would mean the International Fans would have gotten more influence over the Final Lineup than the Koreans as a result of many more gaining interest in the show, but because they tied themselves to this concept of Weighting Votes, they now have an absurd advantage to Korean Votes

Mnet probably figured it was going to be something like 4:1 so allowing those Korean Votes to be worth 4x meant the final lineup would be favorable to Koreans, and combined with Editing choices they could probably have a 5/2/2 or 6/2/1 lineup but now the vote ratio is closer to 10:1, meaning the only way it is not a 7/1/1 or 8/1/0 lineup is if Koreans start to vote for Girls who are not their Favorites which is a tall ask

  • now was this known prior to the beginning of the show and made publicly available that k votes count for more?

Yes, they stated from very early on that the Votes on the show would be weighted so Korean Votes no matter how few would be equal in overall value to International Votes no matter how many

People didn't really understand what this meant, especially when combined with the Voting Restrictions they had early on, it worked together to paint a very misleading picture of the actual popularity of the contestants

For all the Hoopla of Yurina being Number 1 in like 52 Countries including Korea, people really bought into those early results including I think Mnet who they set about either editing out or Evil Editing threatening International contestants to prevent a Majority International Lineup

Which if they understood their own voting system was never a real risk

  • What has happened is the number of Korean Voters has gone down since the start of the show and the number of International Voters has gone up, Mnet didn't predict this

But the ratio really is 4:1 or 5:1. MNet has pre determined it to be 10:1.

    SHEN XIAOTING :

    2nd elimination :

    Total : 5.5m points

    Korean votes : 318k

    International votes : 2.3m

    3rd elimination :

    Total : 4.1m points

    Korean votes : 275k

    International votes : 1.4m

They really haven't applied this 50:50 system at all otherwise we would have gotten 4:1 or 5:1 ratio. They are applying 10:1 ratio from the beginning without even looking at how many total korean and international votes are coming.
