Its fine to not find an artist/songs to your liking. Taste in music is very subjective afterall..
Its funny tho to see the same tired nonsense about IU always doing the same or only doing ballads.
Of her 27 #1 songs in korea, a whopping six songs are ballads. With the exception of those and good day & you and i, not a single title track released is in the same genre/style.
And thats without even going into her b-sides. Her #1 songs alone are more diverse than 99,9% of all idol groups out there.
The reasons she is still at the top in korea after a decade is precisly because she does not release the same stuff over and over.
Correct.
I think many who express this opinion about IU are amateur fakers, who think having that opinion makes them into some sort of experts or superior taste in music.
But actually it only shows how shallow their understanding is. OR more likely that they have heard couple of her songs and went with this rumour.
IU's body of work is pretty good in its variety, as much as any mainstream soloist or even better in many cases.
But anyway, her immense success makes these opinions irrelevant.

Psy hasn't released music in four years, and his last song isn't Gangnam Style 2.0 either in the lyrical content or the sound. (PS: If you're a fan of Squid Game, then you'll enjoy the Lee Byung-hun cameo.)
Chungha has released so many different styles -- and her last album combined everything from house to Latin-pop to afrobeat -- that it's weird to hold her up as a one-trick pony.
I kind of agree on the others, but when they make the landing, they don't disappoint. I love Jessi's What Type of X.
