[BTS CONTENT] Will BTS release an album at all this year?

BTS has been MIA for weeks. September will be full of BTS gloriousness. I think we will get an album, maybe late October?? We have Megan on Friday. We have Coldtan possibly Sept 10. If there is an album, then pre orders would need to start end of September???

I personally don’t think so. I think we will have butter focus until Grammys which is in January 2022 so not to far away.

Then I see bts releasing an album beginning of next year either right before Grammys or after it

I remember thinking a bit more time between releases wouldn't be bad; army's attention is easily diverted..

I used to think in October, but I think now I started to think that a new album will come in November. The Butter remix and Coldplay collab will keep us busy for a while, and if Tae wants to release his mixtape at the end of December, it'll take some time between the album and the mixtape. Either the album will be next year or Tae's mixtape.

I have hope for October album , may be it will include butter remix and a coldplay collab ( Not My universe) in that .

Sept 30th is Grammy deadline so till then they may do Butter promotions .

19th February : 'BE' Essential edition

2nd April : 'Film Out' (Japanese digital single)

21st May : 'Butter' (Physicals alongside Digital)

13th June : 'BTS, THE BEST' (mainly for Japanese market)

9th July : 'Permission to Dance' & 'BUTTER' CD single album

These have been the releases this year.

The thing is 'Butter' CD is priced at USD 26.14, right? It would be dumb of them to give any news about next release in less than 2 months time because that wll reduce the orders of 'Butter' CD (as well as profits) so I guess they want to give this one some time that's why we don't have any news yet.

Megan collab has been in the works for a while so I think it was supposed to be released when 'Butter' was right at the top and after giving 'Permission to Dance' 2 weeks of its own (around Late July or Early August) but things didn't go as per plan.

Coldplay collab is definitely coming in September. I don't think it will be promoted at all. It will be just a good time for the fans of both artists so this one shouldn't hinder any of their album plans.

So they had planned :

April : Film Out

May : Butter

June : FESTA & BTS, THE BEST

July : Permission to Dance

August : Megan collab

September : Coldplay collab

October : ????

I firmly believe that BTS will release an album this year. Like I said the other day, I think BTS are doing one side project and one full project a year since 2019. We have side project already done in 2021. So our album is still pending. So BTS album is coming (they also gave us spoiler in last year's MAMA that means they have it planned already).

Now when?

As we all know BTS pre-orders go for around 40-50 days so we should not expect album in September. If we get pre-orders around in September then we can expect it around Late October.

I will rule out the possibility of no album release in 2021 only if/when we don't get any announcement in September till then I am assured that it'll be in the works.

I don't mind waiting til next year and I personally think it's better to release it next year.

But I want it to be carefully planned and promoted.

And if they don't drop it in Oct then it's probably next year, because it's a waste to release a whole album at the end of the year.

just scrap this whole year at this point! apparently the coldplay song is decent and i'm excited for the meg feature but.... this year was the weakest year EVER for bts i'm almost scared of what their next single will be

they should lay low and focus on bringing something very strong next year to redeem themselves. Timing would be perfect to drop a mixtape and some solo work this fall/winter though

BTS gave us so much this year, a release for the end of 2021 or early 2022 is the best option.

Great albums need great preparation, they will deliver.

I think they can release an album this year. BE was released in November so it's not like they haven't done it. Maybe after the Coldplay song and the Grammy deadline stuff they will release some teasers. They can spend all of Oct promoting it and then the award shows season begins

I’m thinking an album will drop in the winter - either November or December. Pre-order start Oct.

Since BE is a mini project- I’m hoping they either start with another arc and drop a mini-album, or go stand alone full album route like a dark and wild.

I need an album. I will take mixtape as replacement but we can never predict that bc it’s up to the members and whether they feel ready.

I really think the album will be October, after Coldtan.

But hey, if it’s next year, it’s next year. This year’s already gone so quickly and we’ve been pretty spoiled over the last year with music.

I think they will release in November (probably before Thanksgiving).

I think they'll release album regardless, full album gives too good money and profits, doubt they and company would not use this while concerts are still unavailable, if they were touring then yeah, I think they could totally skip this year. So imo it'll be like this:

Aug - that remix with Megan (gosh, I hope they won't reduce already almost non-existent rapline's lines for the sake of putting this girl in the song)

Sept - coldplay collab (either with whole group or just few members) + start of pre-orders

Oct - album

Nov - Tae's remix and somewhere in between these events and the end of the year mayhaps JiKook will drop smth as well.

I hope they could easily take some vocal lines and increase the rap sections.

I wonder if they are afraid of re-living the MOTS:7 area.

I understand if they don't want to release an album before they are absolutely sure they can perform it on stage. We know how painful it was for them.

I haven't been completely satisfied with their release this year, not gonna lie, and I doubt the collab with Coldplay will change this feeling... if we don't get an album I'm at least hoping for Tae's mixtape

Tae or JK’s tape would be amazing. I liked Butter way more than PTD. But I do love the sound of My Universe. I wish they would do something incredibly experimental like have their White Album by the Beatles moment

I'm leaning towards Yes simply bcs they haven't done any online concert this year (except for Muster), and Idt they can do it unless they release a new album first. Also, looking at the success of Muster Sowoozoo, I don't think they'll waste an opportunity to do another online concert this year. So it will be an album, immediately followed by an online concert to promote the album later this year. Which is why we saw some of them in the Stadium for that Tiktok video (they are preparing for an online concert), tho I don't actually know how recent that video is, since it could be recorded during Sowoozoo period Ig.

Yep! I loved the contrast between the two. I know some ARMY had issues with the build up to MOTS, but I loved it so hard. My hype was through the roof with the way they gave us so much.

nov-dec are terrible months for comebacks, if they don't comeback until oct i hope they just push it for next year
