Better solo? Jennie's SOLO or SOMI's BIRTHDAY

I prefer "Birthday" but i love both songs

Birthday is one of the best solo debuts ever, perfect in every way. Fight me.

But I love Solo too and it's a jam.

"Solo" is more "A-side" quality in terms of how the parts of the song fit together. The hottest part of "Birthday" is still the "Oops! You not invited" part. The synergy of the different components of the song aren't as strong as I would like. Something about how these tracks are mixed..I think YG/TBL's team needs to re-evaluate and quality control (QC) how they handle the main and background vocals in their solo songs.

Space isn't always a bad thing, it worked well for "Whistle". I like where the main vocal sits in this song. Something about where the main and background vocals are sitting in the stereo matrix of "Solo" and "Birthday" doesn't feel exactly right. I think Rosé's "On The Ground" and Bella Poarch's "Build A B*tch" are examples of better "balanced feeling" stereo matrixes.

Birthday is great and is very catchy, but the drop if we listen to it a lot it will be very empty. If they replaced the drop with the "my 365 and 24/7..." part as the chorus it would be super duper great. Or else, I really liked Birthday, but I prefer the other two.

Solo is catchy but not my taste. I know everyone loved that song, it got really big and girls really liked it. But it was too empty for me, like the pre-chorus "You got me like ohohoh" was not that good. The rap was the best part and the chorus drop was okay, but I think Solo was a bit overrated.

I'm still listening to Solo. I stopped liking Birthday a week after its release lol

Birthday is one of my all time favourite kpop songs. So it is my favourite but only just. I voted love both though
