Somi is 4/4 when it comes to her discography so far for me. Just wish there was a clear direction for what the plan is.

    Dumb Dumb is a bop. But it is criminally short. There is so much potential in that song. But here we are with yet another song that isn't maximized for reasons I don't care about. So aggravating. Still love it though. I really hope this is a prelude to a mini/full album later this year for her.

    Yeah, hopefully all that teasing and hinting was for something later this year. I'm confident she has multiple songs finished right now. Just a matter of when they'll be released. :pepe-cut:

    She should have released a mini with this song. I do really hope more songs r coming. The length of her discography is tragic. Also I wish dum dumb was longer.

    When I watched the MV for the first time I was disappointed to see it was only 3 minutes. But I figured, hey that's what all the songs do these days. Then when it was close to ending, I thought, hey at least I still have half a minute left.


    Then the 2:30 mark hit and it felt like TBL was saying:

    When The Black Label is able to reach a new creative level with Somi, then people will be able to look back and see there is still a lot more room for her to have songs that hit better. There are more dimensions to Somi as an artist too that The Black Label haven't even discovered yet.

    DD is a bop, but I get the complaints about the length and the feeling that TBL is wasting Somi's talent. DD is still clearly far from her potential, but that's what makes her future interesting.


    It does seem like Somi is getting closer to her sound with each comeback, so I am satisfied. TBL is probably interested in the response to this single before moving forward with the album, so it's at least 2 months away, probably 3.


    The prerelease was necessary since a lot of the Korean general public needed to be reminded that Somi exists. She is appearing on more shows/radio this time to get her name back in people's minds before starting up album preorders.

    I think they plan on using 'I Am Somi' to build up to the album, like they planned on doing last year for the single before Covid.
