At every adult with no job right now

  • Is it also as hard for you as for me? I google all the time for fitting jobs and the websites who should help you find a job have stuff you are not the right person for so you can't do anything about it and than your family is only complaining how you should have a job by now ... ah man

  • I was at that situation few years ago and it sucks, but if you are trying your best, you should not feel guilty about it.

In my case I can tell you one of the most important thing. Nobody is gonna find job for you. I tried outsiders help and it was absolutely meaningless. The best way is to find them yourself. Call different companies and actively search.

  • lol that's like me...

I mean I have job the thing is it's job that I'm doin from home online

and my parents complain that I should earn more and go to work day by day

but the thing is when I've calculated transportation costs, and food that I would need to buy to work, not even mentioning clothes then it doesn't make any sense for me to switch to 'daily normal job' like my parents are calling it lol

  • Have you tried volunteering??

I know that it won't give you an immediate job but it's something that I've had on my mind for a long time that could be useful in the future (I mean like having volunteering on your work bio). It can be a perfect way to see what you're good at, develop new skills and it can give you connections for future jobs. If you need something quick, go for jobs like cleaner/maid/butler or a caregiver for elders (some homes require a course diploma but not all of them, some don't even look for work experience).

Also, I feel the same way. I'm not qualified for the majority of jobs that are offered in my country at the moment (waiter, builder/construction worker, nurse, programmer) and I'm not sure what I'm good at tbh but I feel like I need to start with something simple (jobs that don't require qualifications and have a decent salary) so that I can gradually find a job that will suit for me.

I've only had a summer job at a gas station as a car cleaner, so I can't say I've had the same struggles as you, but I've had many people around me who have had the same experience and were always sharing their frustrations about it. They kept searching, even if there are no jobs on the website then they would follow companies on fb or instagram in case they are offering a job or they would message them immediately. Just know that you are not alone in this and I'm sure there will be jobs that you'll feel comfortable with or be qualified for.

Sry if there are some English mistakes lol

  • Maybe it's just me, but I feel like responding to job adverts is kind of futile. Most of the time I didn't even get a reply and the few times I did, they merely emailed me to let me know that they'd hired somebody else already.

Eventually I was so fed up with the whole situation, that I decided to get there first.

Instead of looking up companies looking to hire, I picked companies I liked but which weren't actively looking for employees and gave them a phone call.

I'm not going to lie, what followed was the worst month of my life. I died a thousand deaths due to my extreme social anxiety, but it was worth it. One of the companies I called happened to have two elderly employees who were about to retire, something neither Google nor any job website could have told me. I obviously couldn't work full time immediately, but I got to work part time and the month the first of the two older gentlemen retired, my contract was upgraded to full time.

Best of luck! I hope you manage to find a nice job that you enjoy soon!
