I actually have a girl at my workplace. She's young, early 20s.

She listened to K-pop since she was a teenager, she's mostly familiar with 2nd gen groups, but she's doesn't care about stan culture or anything more than listening to the music. She checks new K-pop music from time to time but doesn't even bother remembering the names of the groups she hears (she only knows the full name of the older groups that were popular at that time she started listening to K-pop).

Like, she can recognize some new groups if I tell her the full name of the group but she can't really remember the name of the group by herself, even if she knows the songs lol.

The only explanation I can come with for this weird situation is that she probably just puts everything in a playlist and she let's it play by itself without bothering to change the songs or something.

Uhh, people who know kpop songs that were popular overseas? I'm talking about stuff like WG - Nobody and Psy - Gangnam Style.

It's rare, but I've seen it one of two ways.

1. If they are brand new fans of one or two groups, but it usually doesn't last long, since they will inevitably hear about BTS.
2. They were old Kpop fans that never checked out any new groups after their faves.

I... this is actually my stanning story lol I was curious who is this group that many people hate but still so popular. There were even some Armys in my previous work place too. One day I decided to dig into them and the rest was history.
