What is the worst thing you've woken up to in the middle of the night?

The other day I woke up in the middle of the night thinking I'd overslept. I was so convinced that I was about to be late for work that I was fully dressed and ready to go in record time... Only to then realise that it was actually 2 in the morning. I almost cried.
I haven't had a day off in more than 8 months and I think it's starting to get to me.

The two worst times have both been fire alarms. The first was when I was a kid and lightning struck the house. Thankfully it did not catch on fire but I have had quite the fear of storms ever since.
The second was 9th grade at prep school. I was on the top bunk and the alarm was right on the other side of the wall from my bed so I ended up shooting straight into the air and directly slamming my knees onto the tile floor. I couldn't run on pavement until my freshmen year in college and my right knee still bothers me at times
Also sleep paralysis because my god it's terrifying. I have completely stopped sleeping on my back because of it

Sorry to hear that. Everybody needs time to disconnect. I hope you'll be able to get some time off. Not getting any is just inhumane.

Sleep paralysis. I see demonic creatures too and the last time I had it it was satan himself who came for my soul.
I need an exorcist lolI happily got treatment for my sleep paralysis later and there really hasn't been many bad things that I've woken up to since.
How do they treat it? What type of pills did you get? I didn't go to the doctor because I have paralysis quite rarely. But maybe I should.
