Do you block KPOP artists on Spotify?

There is a block option on spotify?

Non kpop fans? Kpop fans are probably doing it to avoid helping with streams in a moment of slip or something

i don't block anyone anywhere (and i've been on tumblr and twitter) so it's not surprising that i had no idea that was possible lol. it doesn't matter anyway, i wouldn't block them, if i don't like a song i press skip and that's that

Well, if it's a free version on phone it's quite annoying to hear suddenly kpop song besides those you actually want to listen (even tho I almost never listen to music on phone) so it's a good option actually and I understand those who do it.

No, I honestly don't see any reason for it... I guess because I have a habit to make my own playlists or to just listen to one artist at a time, so I have no problem with stumbling upon a song I dislike. Even if I did, I'd just skip... It seems like this has more to do with streaming, and that's just petty af...

why do someone need to bother if they can just block smth beforehand and listen to what they want peacefully?.... Plus you have limited skips while kpop acts are numerous unfortunately

Yeah I block artists I don't listen to or don't like quite often. It's for playlists I didn't make myself that have too many songs I don't like from an artist. Or radios that feature that artist too much. So instead of pressing skip every time their song comes on, I can avoid them all together.

I also hide/block songs that I absolutely can't stand even if I like the artist. Like those songs that make you cringe as soon as you hear the opening notes.

It's not weird behaviour to curate what you want to listen to. That's why the option exists.

TIL you can block artists and songs on Spotify. But it only works on mobile. On PC you can only block in the Discover playlist.

You bet I do. Streaming is like currency now for a lot of artists and I'm not gonna give that away for acts I absolutely don't like. If I block/hide an act it's because I do not want to support them in any way. It's nice to have that bit of control over your music app.

i don't use curated playlists , I create my own.

I did block some bollywood singers cause I dislike them a lot but kpop nope. I simply don't add them in my playlists.

If I use any curated ones, I do hide songs after checking it once.

When I don't want to listen to an artist, I just don't search for their songs and their page.

Oh, I totally forgot that most people on Spotify listen to playlists. I don't so I never needed this option.

But now It makes sense.

I never knew this feature existed, I'll just go and block some artists I have a lot of names on the top of my mind

yes and no problem with that. some people want to curate their own listening experience and thats fine.

i recently did this because spotify add some groups that i dont listen to in my only you playlist that they created for me.

Sometimes I like to explore through the radio feature or the recommended for you list and there are some Kpop artists I don’t like and am not interested in and would rather not have show up, kind of like the way you can dislike something on Pandora to get it temporarily removed..
