I said it could be a real competition this year between SM and Hybe for most album sales and people thought i was trolling lol. If BTS only comes back once with an album and doesnt do outrageous numbers (they stay around 5 million in GAON and 3m in Hanteo) we could see a real battle. I'm talking sales of 2021 albums of course, not counting all the back catalogue sales.

SM is really dumb for not restocking their albums, new fans always want more

its been really good year for sm,their stocks have been on rise all year

What's amazing is that like apart from NCT Dream and Baekhyun comebacks the restocking played a big part on this. Empathy sold +100k when it got restocked like 2 months ago. And SM still hasn't gone all out when we consider we have coming on EXO, NCT 127, WayV full album, Aespa first album, etc...
