While we’re in this subject. I wish someone would also compile a list of every Tom, Dick and Harry that was suddenly loved or supported by kpoppies just because they happen to be against BTS (for an award, charting, opposite beliefs, etc).

you can't really compare. they both debuted in different generations. but if you really want this discussion, then it's quite obvious BTS popularity in Asia >>>>> Spice Girls popularity in Asia.

BTS is improving year after year and by 2023 will be over 100 million equivalent

...They both have dolls. Not focusing on sales, I think BTS has to continue on with longevity and have a couple reunion tours in order to have their own long-term historical impact. Some more really solid catalog songs would be great support.

The Spice Girls is still the best selling GG of all time. (If you don't count that group from the 20s lol)

Honestly they have songs in so many modern movies it's hard to know not to. They were my favorite. I have all the dolls from the movie in original packaging lol. Posters, VHS, Casettes, CDs. My first casette was Spice World.

As a big Spice Girl fan in the past and a huge BTS fan now, I won't compare because it's a really stupid comparison.

Probably can’t compare, different era and time. Back in the 90’s, Youtube didn’t exist so only had normal album sales to go off. Personally, I never thought Spice Girls were much to sing about. (No pun intended)

it's not comparable. back in the time album sales was the only thing fans could get so they had hiiiigh album sales, but today where there is social media, streaming platforms etc and we live in digital world it's totally different, but BTS selling this much albums is still impressive, so no can't compare

I was more or less just saying you can't compare them as things were not the same. But when it comes to physical sales Spice Girls is still the best selling gg (other than the one from the older days) Basically disagreeing with Drew's comparison, as with how things are handled now, as digital did not exist at the time, and YouTube didn't start well after Spice Girls had disbanded. Both are legendary in their own right. If we're talking about all time artists, definitely it would not be the Spice Girls.
