Music fans, what are your favorite genres in Korean music?

The same as in mainstream. Pop and maybe a more rock/upbeat number. I dislike rap or ballady songs.

Dance pop, R&B, and coffee house pop. For rock and indie rock, I too prefer the non-Korean approach. For retro music, I have a slight preference for Western music.

The genres that BTS and Blackpink are releasing lol.

Korea has something else besides bg and gg?

I like When songs in kpop have r&b elements or have a retro/synth sound. Also, I like ethereal pop, indie and folk music

I love ballads and bubble pop music like cute Twice. I also love retro sounds and I've recently been getting into city pop and soft rock styles.

R&B, pop-rock, EDM, synth pop, ballads, and indie/lofi.

Hip-hop, EDM, R&B and retro genres like synthpop, city pop, disco, synthwave, deep house etc anything retro I'm eating that shit up

Within k-pop, I prefer things that slap hard, things I can headbang on, things real groovy and smooth.

What I'm not fond of: ballads, slow songs, innocent concepts, etc.

I like Hyukoh, gugak, and trot.

I'm a musical omnivore I'll take anything.

But to be honest what i'm craving rn is whatever genre Youra falls under. Her chill can tone down anyone and anything.

R&B, always R&B

Then soul, funk, disco (and all that retro stuff like citypop, etc...), pop and jazz in that order.

Also like a good ballad every now and then

BTS genre and IU genre

Overall, I like EDM, retro, soul, funk, the stuff that IU did in early years (no idea how it's called, theatrical pop?), Rock and R&B.

Not everything that's released in those genres, but it's interesting to hear how things are done slightly different in Korean (and Japanese) music with those styles.
