What hating kpop and bts makes you do... (and the stupidity of it)

  • There's no issue with not liking bts, their music or kpop as a whole and not wanting it on their tl

And mind you, I think it is much more locals/non fans than kpoppies

But unfollowing an author, for congratulating them is, let me be frank, kind of a moronic thing to do.

It's not the first time Paulo Coelho, author of O alquimista (the Alchemist), a famous novel, has praised the group but it seems it still is not accepted by some of his ex followers.

There's another example with John Cena, who's very well known and is an army and has to deal with hords of fans that are definitely not into Bangtan.

Can famous male celebrities (and male fans too) stan a group that's been identified/stereotyped as being liked by crazy hordes of young women?

The answer is obviously yes but it's still hardly accepted

What do you think of it? Do you sense an evolution?

  • John Cena is already a polarizing figure among pro wrestling fans. So I'm not surprised some people use this or anything to attack him.

Paulo Coelho, I don't know much about him or his followers. My only guess is many people in the world keep hearing about BTS and are not interested in the slightest so they're getting fed up when their favorite author talks about them? Maybe some people see this as jumping on a bandwagon.

For Cena being the fan many of us men like for obvious reasons lol i can sorta get why some fans maynot like the boygroups I think it's because you don't really matter you aren't the target audience or fan. Just look at it from the perspective of a man. I like a few boy groups because they are good artists, hilarious entertainers etc but at the end of the day I would be the clown to expect to see them at a fanmeet. Just watch vlive or any content they make its usually some boyfriend thing etc etc just reminds you that the people they target exclusively are women, you being there is an oddity an anomaly. It's like a woman showing up to some sort of all man event like balls awareness or something like that there will always be that awkward unasked question nobody says" why are you here?" You are tolerated but not really accepted.

I guess to get that same jazz the buzz of oh my bias might like me sorta fantasy fangirls get I would have to 100% stan Holland.

Look at the pictures I posted above. It's possible it died down though; I'm more an old school fan so I'm not in touch with what's going on right now. It's just there was a time when John Cena was booked as the new Hulk Hogan ie. invincible, can't lose a match however stacked the odds were against him. This coupled with a very kid friendly persona rubbed the hardcore, edgy fans the wrong way.

I mean his on-screen persona is always a topic of debate. Now, that he's semi-retired, His image is improved. I wonder what goes into Vince's head sometimes? Why not sell him as heel? He certainly got the acting chops to pull that off.....

Yeah, lots of people were dying to see him turn heel. I think most of his haters would have cheered for him like crazy had he turned heel. But he was the kids' favorite wrestler, his merch was selling like hot cakes so Vince protected his image.

If he's semi retired then it's logical he's not as hated as before. To be fair, I think a lot of hate he received was mostly for the show; it was just funny for some fans to hate John Cena, it was the thing to do to be cool and edgy. I was not a fan of the guy but I respected his work ethic and his spot within the roster made sense.

This isn't his first time he mentioned them on social media, he has done it multiple times over the past few years and sent one of the members a signed book that they have mentioned they read and liked. He seems to at least be aware of some of their work and their thematic connections to his.

So I don't really understand this is happening now.

  • i made a shitty joke about his tweet before bc it was funny seeing all the serious tweets then the one in full stan mode, but yeah people liking what they like without stereotypes attached should be normalized so I'm sorry about that. Many people don't know about this but Paulo Coelho was a composer before becoming writer and his partner was no one less than a legend of brazilian rock n roll, Raul Seixas.

narcissistic, my god i love it
