They rely heavily on bgs for most of their income, but they've also been putting their ggs in the dungeon (aespa, RV, Oh!GG, SNSD?, you name it), so its not helping either

At this pace, its possible that they could be incorporated by JYP or Hybe (kudos to them for the Nu'est comeback), as an SM stan, is pretty sad to be witnessing their slow downfall

NCT 127 released a Japanese mini album two months ago and SM is holding auditions in Japan. They aren't ignoring anything.

Ok yall need to calm down. It is not the end of the world. I know that not all of you might like this idea but that does not mean that we should just straight-up hate on it. If there can be China-based sub-units, why not U.S-based subunits? I think we all know that SM is going to picking the best of the best to be part of this unit so we don't really have to worry about them being talentless. We need to respect the idea that kpop is going global. Many talented people that are not Asian have a dream to be K-pop idols and it is not our job to block them. I also know that some of you are bad that you did not get the Japan-based unit but it is probably in the works. You don't have to stan this subunit, just respect it.

I don't know how I feel about the American unit tbh the general public are not gonna take them seriously . Boy groups have it hard. I don't know it doesn't seem to be a good idea, they might be made fun of and even get homophobic remarks not sure if it's gonna work, it does seem gimmicky.

this is not an "idea", this is NCT's original concept and SM explained since the beginning and repeated it time and time again that they will keep debuting new units in different regions.

I agree with SM trying to use the BP formula on Aespa. I already guessed this back then but people said that they were following the RV path. I am honestly disappointed in SM when it comes to GGs. I hope they improve on this. The girl groups can bring a lot of money to SM but they are not using them.

Yeah this is true, the media is probs not going to take them seriously, but who knows. Maybe they will treat them like Beatles(maybe a reach). Even if boy groups have it hard there might still be hope.

But it’s not just SM now is it: Jyp, Hybe, the new hbo show. Multiple companies have had the same sort of idea in the last year so it can’t be that bad if everyone wants to give it a try.
