I agree, it might come back again but the girl crush concept is going to be hard to beat. Especially here in the U.S.

It will be! It's a cycle that goes round and round. Cute was phasing out when SNSD / 2NE1 started entering their later years. Then it was sexy / retro for the trend. Then TWICE and Red Velvet became hits with their earlier songs/concepts and it became popular again to do bright concepts once again. Now that the top groups are entering their later years for the 3rd gen, I predict the cycle will come back around and that bright concepts will make a comeback.

I was hoping SM would’ve brought the cute concept back with Aespa but they didn’t and instead followed the trend. Tbh I don’t see cute concepts becoming mainstream unless a big company debuts a cute gg and the gg blows up. Maybe Bighit or YG might go in that direction but who knows.

Until then, cute concepts won’t become mainstream again until we have another Gee or Cheer Up.

Weeekly and stayc can become big groups if their companies play their card right! Also Weeekly won roty, but aespa couldn't be entered as they just debuted (At the time), the few aespa enter they won

TWICE hasn’t abandoned it. FANCY, Happy Happy, MORE & MORE and Fanfare are bright concepts.
