Where is somi’s career going?

She’s been with them less than 3 years, from september 2018. Her first release was in may 2019 so that was just less than 2 years ago

2 1/2 years. 3 songs.

We'll see what happens this year. Hopefully she releases a mini. But she needs to do it before Lisa if Lisa really is releasing a solo in June. As far as Somi's overall career, she's doing well considering she's doing a lot of CFs.

Exactly my question. Why they are sabotaging? I remember this type of thread was made in the old forums and some answered that Somi writes her own songs so it takes time for her to come back. (Idk if this fact is true or not) But this surely decreases her hype.

She should have joined ITZY when she had the chance. Love her music, but she's going nowhere.

She went to YG because of her musical taste differences with JYP, but went to YG to release the same type of music as ITZY. TWICE and ITZY could have sung Somi's music.

Outta My Head and Birthday all sound like ITZY rejects they were probably produced & written when Somi was originally part of the group.

She is basically a model. Hopefully we can see her more on stage with IOI reunion.

Love her music but her career so far is anti climatic.

I've actually talked about this before, but I'm assuming the reason she went to TBL was because she wanted full control of her career when it came to projects outside of music. She wants to be able to endorse products individually. Maybe some acting work in the future. Also other projects like variety. But I also think she wanted to have the flexibility of a schedule just in case IOI reunited.

As far as music at TBL, she wanted to have the ability to have more input. Like I said, we'll see what happens this year because I think it will be one of those writing on the wall types of moments for her musical career.

I still have outta my head on my playlist. She really should go in that musical direction. Who knows tho what she's doing right now. Maybe working on her albums? Or sharpening her skill or just being a 20 year old living her life.

Idk the last song I liked of hers was the nomu nomu one. She shines in a group but seems lacklustre as a solo artist.

I don't really like her music and I think it was a bad career choice to leave the itzy lineup. She would have been the star of itzy on their astronomical rise. But yeah neither her nor her music is holding my attention rn she shines in groups but with her solo's and droughts I'm not feeling it.

Somi has so much lost potential being stuck in YG's dungeon, I feel bad for her.
