Girls' Generation.
I've read your post after replying. Oh, well.

You can't compare success or legendary status just saying "because higher numbers" when 2 things happened in different times, just to give you an example, a couple years ago movie were hitting one billion grossing left and right, if i ask you what movie is more "legendary" the mario bross movie or something like star wars old movies, would you seriously pick the mario bross movie? Star Wars is legendary status to be honest those movies are way before my time and i am not a fan of them so for all i know they might have huge numbers but i doubt it, you can't say any movie that outsells star wars is more legendary just because of numbers

the first Ford is still more legendary than the latest Tesla even if it didnt make as much profit
-
Iconic and legendary are more subjective feelings imo than commercial success
SNSD
-
SNSD is the reason why the Korean GP even cares more about girl groups than boy groups and every company uses them at the blueprint when making their own girl groups
Yeah sure... not when even their own company used BP to make their currently successful gg
-
Twice is still active and trendy, and SNSD has cemented their legacy, so I'll go with SNSD for now.
I agree. Legend usually implies something is finished or mostly finished.
Twice are still very active.

What does that have to do with SNSD’s impact and legendary status?
-

We're stuck in a feedback loop... I'm scared...

I am replying to a comment to put things in perspective

Legends have to disband first. Twice is active.

SNSD created the blueprint for many girl groups and made the world care more about an Asian GG. I would go with that one
Cant say the same about Twice honestly. The most game-changing thing that Twice brought to the game is actually the "foreign member line" formula which opened door for groups having more than just 1 foreigner.
Also, Commercial success =/= legendary

Tbh SNSD had that with Jessica and Tiffany who were really popular from the beginning because they were American.

I already know how this poll will go, but don't worry, y'all are more than welcome to be wrong. You're already wrong about everything else anyway.

Crediting a 2nd gen group with a 4th gen phenomenon is wild. I guess their influence just took a good 15 years to actually take effect?
-
Not really
They were still Korean Americans and after 2nd gen, those pretty much faded out of most lineup. I'm pretty sure most Korean Americans in kpop were already there before SNSD anyway
Meanwhile you can clearly see the impact twice's j-line still has

isn't this just a repost of the other thread but with a poll?

I live in Korea but I am not Korean (I am British). My vote went to Soshi, I don’t think Twice have any song that can rival the cultural impact of Gee or Into the New World.

SSND in Korea
TWICE internationally.
-
"I'm not a hater, I'm just critical."

Twice fans don't care what Blackpink are doing or not doing.
-
You were already asked to bring out receipts after I brought out mine. You didn't.
Also, that post is critical of Twice "fans" (maybe even fake fans), not Twice the group, for a thread where I defended Twice, saying if people didn't know Twice songs in the past year, then that was their fault. I already brought out the receipt for that thread in our last discussion.
Keep subscribing to the RSS feed to my posts. You'll eventually catch me throwing random shade at some group, maybe even Twice

I'm voting for the group that is having a comeback soon
The other group is on perma hiatus

The foreign line i referred to is different from taking a foreigner with korean descendent.
Have to give credits where it dues. Back in the days 2nd gen wouldnt dare to have so many foreigner e.g. Thai, Chinese in a single group. Twice literally debut with 5 koreans and 4 foreigners - by this none of them are with korean descendent. They popularised having a proper J-line in the group
(Though i would also argued that Jyp did that first with Miss A but didnt take off)

I think Twice did popularise the J-line, so credit is due.
There are some wider factors leading up to it that are interesting to add. During early 2nd edition, there really wasn’t a reason for a Japanese idol to want to debut in a Korean group, they would just debut in a Japanese group instead.
As 2nd gen went on, groups like Soshi and Kara changed that perception. They grew South Korea’s soft power to a point that it began eclipsing Japan’s in Asia. Korea became hip and trendy thanks to them and Idols like Mina (who were still school children at the time) grew up dancing to their songs.
