Unpopular opinion - JYP should have debuted Nmixx in 5th gen?

unpopular opinion, i think the two groups actually looked better with Garam and Jinni still with them
For lesserafim, Garam is the soft voice that they needed, as well as a decent vocalist to complement Yunjin and Chaewon. Then, Kazuha wouldnt have to be given so much vocal lines that she couldnt handle and just stick to rap.
For Nmixx, the whole harmony was disrupted imo post Jinni departure. No matter how pretty Sullyoon is, she can never be the center because something looks very off when she is in center. Only Kyujin and Jinni are suitable to be center. Jinni is there to complement the group visually. Jinni+ sullyoon combo was great but since she left, Sullyoon actually looks not harmony in the group

I agree with Nmixx when Jinni left they lost the visual center but for Lsfm I feel like Garam left so soon i didn’t notice a difference
maybe because I wasn’t an early Lsfm fan i didn’t notice her absence much

I don't think it would have change something
NMIXX at their debut could have least secure some attention from the public by being the GG who will follow in Itzy step and with the " company successfull with his gg" tag that JYP had when they announce NMIXX debut
if NMIXX would have debut right now they wouldn't get as much attention than they did in the past
cuz JYP have lost this tag as the best company with GG after seeing the state of Itzy career after just 2-3 years and Twice current state in korea
also Itzy have been losing a lot of steam so being the first GG after itzy would not have the same impact and attention than it did 3 years ago
+ the fact that the image of NMIXX at debut just doesn't fit with the current state of Kpop
it was very story telling forward
and it was the kind of concept that was working around 2019-2021 with groups like aespa, enhypen etc.. being very storytelling oriented
none of the group debuting right now are going for a storytelling concept anymore
and even the Mix of genres isn't working anymore, aespa stop doing it, nct too, etc....
they would stand out in 5th gen but not in the good way
If 4th gen feels more like going forward in kpop with trying new type of concept storytelling, AI, experimental sound, horror etc....
5th gen feels more like going back to the source of kpop, we are back to more kpopish sound, with more soft concept like Illit - cherish, H2H, Kiikii
so if JYP would want to make NMIXX debut in 5th gen, he would have to rebrand the whole group and make them redebut

I actually agree
I think with Garam , the hate for LSRF would have been less big
cuz currently you go from yunjin and chaewon who are good vocalist, to kazuha, sakura and eunchae directly and the gap feel gigantic
there's no member who is right in the middle and would make the gap in vocal skills so huge in the group and i think Garam was kinda this member
as for NMIXX i agree
I personally don't think Sullyoon fit Nmixx concept at all, she stand out to much but not in a good way when they are doing stronger concept like dash and see that
her visual just don't fit the strong and badass aesthetic NMIXX is trying to go for these past era
and when Jinni was here i feel like it was less obvious cuz she was here to balance the group visually

You can’t just re debut a group unless they add new members

-
Dreamcatcher added some members
Gahyun and handong weren't part of the original lineup
And i think what's more correct to say more than adding a member is "change of lineup"
All the groups you mention had a way or another change their formation with members leaving or being added before their redebut ( TO1 being the only exception)

She was only there for like 2 weeks. Fearless debuted on may 2nd, and Garam had to go on hiatus on may 20th. She wasn't in the group long enough to create a negative impact for leaving. I am unsure to say how good of an idol she is because she was only in the group for like 2 weeks.
I agree that Nmixx would have benefited to debut a year or 2 later. They're a talented group but they got lost in the shuffle going up against Le Sserafim, Ive, NJZ. Debuting near those group with an unorthodox concept did a lot of damage to them. I think commercial results would have been better if they released a year or 2 later. I am still unsure if they would change their position among current groups.
The main issue with this group is they released a polarizing debut, and the mix pop concept seemed it wasn't executed well. Aespa started off with blending other genres into their songs but the execution was much better. Having the main pull for this group as mix pop and a cookie cutter concept wasn't wise.
I think it's fair to compare O.O and Black mamba. Both songs were polarizing debuts, but the key for Aespa they owned the concept and left an impression to get people talking. I felt O.O didn't do that for Nmixx. it was more about confusion and didn't have people talking. If there was better concept for nmixx to start off it would have helped them out a lot.

Tbh I don’t consider Black Mamba polarizing but I know some do! I find it safe and very straight lined especially for a group like aespa but yeah O.O was extremely polarizing and required a specific taste which was niche at the time.
Maybe JYP wanted an experimental group to test the public relations
and anyways Nmixx are still young and can mature into other concepts if they decided to

I remember when black mamba on release being polarizing due to the concept. I think the sound of Black Mamba threw people off because they weren't expecting that from a big 4 group debut song.
I agree that Nmixx felt like an experiment. I could be wrong but I remember reading jyp wanted to do a mix pop thing with certain members of Twice before they had their survival show. Maybe Nmixx was them attempting it to see if it can work.
Nmixx most likely would have succeeded if they didn't experiment early on. The group is a perfect example of you need more than talent to be considered a top tier group. Song selection and concept is key and I felt JYP failed them regarding that. It's a shame because they're a well rounded group with strong vocalists and dancers. I am unsure why they didn't try to push Sullyoon more when she went viral, and same with Haewon.
