Yoon: I'm in a team called STAYC right now and ever since we debuted, we kind of always released a song that did well, and then a song that didn't do well, and then another song that did well, and another song that didn't do well... But right now, we released 2 flops in a row ㅠㅠ. We are preparing an album for the upcoming February, and we don't know if it will do well or not...

Fortune teller: First of all, for the year 2025, as 'Yeokma' (traveling horse) comes in, for Yoon, there will be 3 Yeokmas coming in (meaning that she'll be busy?).

Female MC: Isn't having a Yeokma coming in a good thing?

Fortune teller: Yes, so the amount of promotion and travelling will increase. And in 2025, for the both of you (Yoon and Yuqi), there might be a lot of changes. But what's important is that you need to understand the tendencies and dispositions you were born with. So when you're faced with making a decision, you need to understand what part of your personality is making this decision. And in the future, when you make a decision, you can make the proper decision.

    original post: here

    1. I Cheeky Icy Thang the most out of all the STAYC songs thoughㅠ

    2. CYT and the song before that were too similar so the producer that they pick for their next song will be their solution. If not, they will never find what suits them

    3. Their recent releases have honestly been bad. That's the biggest issue

    4. GPT was an ok song but the lyrics were... I couldn't listen to it more than a few times. I like songs like So Bad. When it comes to small companies, songs are the most important so I hope they can get good songs this year!!

    5. Teddy Bear, Poppy and Bubble were good but they rested too long after thatㅜㅜ

    6. GPT had that winter vibe so I liked it⸝⸝ʚ̴̶̷ ̯ʚ̴̶̷⸝⸝ I'll be waiting for STAYC

    7. To be honest, their songs were just bad. I liked Poppy so much... but after that...

    8. If Poppy was a Korean title track, it would've done so well. We really like that kind of style

    9. They never released a song that was as good as ASAP and their debut songㅠㅠ

    10. I liked Teddy Bear and Bubble so much and listened to them a lot but their songs lately have just been disappointingㅠㅠ

  • I hope they succeed. it is bad for any industry when the market is dominated entirely by big brand groups. there should be a thriving space for others and STAYC is one of the better ones.

Of course, tastes are subjective and ever changing, not even the best group can guarantee that their next comeback is going to be received better and greater.

  • I feel it isn't just the Korean GP because I feel the same way about their released

Teddy Bear and Bubble were my favourite releases ever by them and I thought they would continue that sort of style

I honestly think that people responsible for title track selections in agency are making bad decisions.

Full album had so many good songs yet they've picked Cheeky Icy Thang, and also song shouldn't have too much english lyrics

  • Personally, they never really surpassed Star to a Young Culture and Stereotype. TEENFRESH, Metamorphic, and ...I aren't really touching the song in those releases.

But it could just be that the K-pop market is still oversaturated, coupled with the fact that it's more expensive today to make music. If a group like STAYC is in trouble, then what does that say about the health of the industry?

  • I feel it isn't just the Korean GP because I feel the same way about their released

Bubble was really a great kpop song and Teddy Bear was also good.

It's kind of similar how Oh My Girl had a good double with Nonstop and Dun Dun Dance, but could not really follow up with the same good songs, even if their songs after them was not too bad.

  • I fe‍el like I'm the only on‍e wh‍o actually enjoyed both "Cheeky Icy Thang" and "GPT". In fact, none of STAY‍C's title tracks have been misses for me.

  • I agree with the comment #9, in og post.

Their debut songs were probably their best songs.

They did release a few good songs later but nothing came remotely close after that.

Run2u was good too, production wise.

But they have been choosing odd title tracks mostly.

I began to forget about them gradually.

  • 1 Thing should've been a title track

    It's so catchy

Cheeky icy thang takes time to get used to

I was confused when listening to the album that they went with icy than instead of 1 thing. It was weird because it seemed like the girls preferred to perform 1thing instead of icy thang.

I liked GPT, so I am shocked it didn't do that well. Hopefully, they can recover, but I'm afraid they might not due to how strong competition is. I think it's hard to recover unless you're in a big 4 company
