What TOP5, btw? Talent wise, discography, longevity, popularity?
Also, let's not forget AOA and EXID like they didn't rule the 3rd gen before MAMAMOO and Red Velvet came along.
The TOP5 is pretty obvious if it's about quality and not popularity.
1. MAMAMOO
2. Red Velvet
And before BLINKS lose it, BP don't deserve to be in the TOP5, because their discography is nonexistent, basically, and talent wise, they're average at best. They don't offer anything that we didn't see before them.
Honestly, I was struggling if I should pick Oh My Girl or TWICE for the 5th spot, because even tho TWICE has a massive discography, talent wise, they're average as well, but more balanced than BP.

looking how many songs (G)I-DLE managed to chart high on Melon in recent years they could even be 2nd on list behind BP, maybe even somewhere in future surpassing them because they release music as group more often
if we count total overall worldwide sales then TWICE should be #1 because if I remember well they K+J sales are around 18M
there is too many factors but three mentioned groups would be my top 3 in any case

My list is solely based on talent, discography, and that's all. I don't care about charts or popularity!
I mean, we have like 100000 threads about who's the most popular group. Is it that important? Not really. Also, fans will pick their own faves no matter what, so it's not like I'm the only biased here. My list actually the most unbiased one, because it's not about popularity. People only take TOP lists seriously if their faves are included anyway.😂
Honestly, if we exclude popularity and success completely, this would be my TOP5:
1. MAMAMOO - (Yes, they still deserve #1. The best and most versatile Kpop gg discography.)
5. Gidle
No offense to Blackpink and TWICE, but they shouldn't be in the TOP5 (or even TOP10) if we're only talking about quality music, and talent. Most nugu groups releasing 10 times better songs than pretty much any BIG4 group, they're just not popular.
