The only question remain what court said or are they liable for penalty or not. Since Ador hasn't filed lawsuit yet the penalty is out of question for now, only court answer for validity of contract.

i mean, there is gonna be a long court fight. They 100% aren’t keeping the name. Maybe Ador can work out a deal for royalties so that can perform old songs.

But honestly, groups cover groups songs all the time, so i wonder if they can freely “cover” their own songs for concerts (maybe never perform on broadcast)

They got lawyers advising them. They didn’t just announced that they are done with your favorite company and just leave, they followed procedures as per the terms in their contract. They provided a legal letter and gave ADOR 14 days to correct contract violations in which ADOR failed to in the given time frame.

As far as I can gauge, there is little public sentiment against them leaving HYBE and much fandom support.

This is a classic case of talented individuals - young, pretty, vulnerable girls at that Vs. the big bad corporate entity, and public sentiments naturally support the underdog.

However those who are more aware, know that this is kind of a limbo, until the courts decide or there is a settlement.

well fortunately the members are just employees at the end of the day, not entities that can be owned so you can't forcibly make them to participate in group activities if they choose not to. That's why Hybe/ador resort to media play bc they know they can't do shit ab it

It was actually MHJ who picked out the place, she even had a whole team renovate it to each member's taste. Also it's just rent, it's not like ador or hybe owns the place, Han river apartments goes for at least 2-3 mil
