This is just a personal thought but I think Joy and Irene don’t get along well.

    There was a rumor (I don't remember the forum), but the rumor seems to come from fan threads and online forums, where fans speculate about decisions the agency made regarding group final lineup. Some fans believe that Joy was almost kicked out of the group in favor of another potential member, and that Irene, being one of the most popular, would have been a natural choice to be part of the group.



    It was difficult for Joy at that time, but she managed to become part of the group. Also, when you look at RV content in general, Irene herself isn’t very close to anyone (except Seulgi, I guess).


    I don’t know why, but I feel a bad vibe between the two.


    Now that I see the article again about Joy wanting to leave her group and SM, it didn’t even surprise me. The main reason was, of course, the way SM handled RV, but I suspect she might have had conflicts with some members.


    Again, this is not a fact or something that can be proven with evidence. just a perspective view on RV.

    Maybe that's just me and my delulu mind 😂 but that's how I feel

    Idk what kind of expectations fans have towards their favorite groups, do they expect them all to be bffs and get along 24/7


    pretty much every reveluv knows irene is closest to seulgi and to a certain extent wendy, and less close with the younger members probably bc of the age difference. I find that and occasional fights between members to be super normal. they are a 10 yo group they don't even live together anymore and prob only get together when they have schedules (which for rv are very few).

    Also, even normal BFFs don't get along all the time. I've had intense fights with my friends before, some of them resulted in us going different ways while with other friends, our fights made our relationship stronger. It's just normal! Now add in factors like being coworkers in a high-stress industry, and chaos can definitely ensue.


    Also, with cameras on the idols at any given possibility, they are given very little wiggle room in terms of their facial expressions or how they say things or what have you. They're expected to be perfect all the time, and when they aren't, people start speculating on even the smallest of details.


    ATEEZ has had conflicts during their lives, even. One time, Hongjoong diverted the conversation. Another time, Hongjoong allowed the discussion to continue while ATEEZ worked together to sort things out. It is only reasonable to believe that things like this are common amongst all groups, especially behind the scenes.

    Fights are a normal part of a healthy friendship. If there are no fights then either both parties are passive aggressive and will blow up at some point, or they are really not that close in the first place.


    I'm a NCTzen, everyone in the fandom knows about the classic Mark x Haechan feud in 2019 where they couldn't even hide it in live performances 😭 and those boys are literally inseparable since they are the only NCT members who are part of both Dream and 127.

    SM make it clear the hierarchy in RV.

    Irene first then seulgi, whatever left of those put it on wendy, and whatever left of those put it on joy and if there anything left they gave it to yeri. They are all human, especially in the 10 years of their career and only few of em get the opportunity to shine, it bound to happen somehow someway.

    Seulgi cuz they train the longest together

    And wendy cuz they have a pretty close age


    Irene have always treated the youngest member as younger sibling or little kid

    You play with them, but you're not going to hang out etc....


    + The fact that Irene and Joy are two total opposite in term of personalities


    They might not be bff but they are getting along well and respect each other


    And nobody love red velvet more than Joy she fight for the group and the members so many times


    The only reason for her not to want to renew or leave the group is probably cuz she's tired of SM and doesn't want to do anything with them anymore

    She spent many times calling them out on how they are not doing a proper job with RV.


    So i doubt she would want to stay in Red velvet if SM is still the one managing them during their group activities
