Does Rose' have the potential to be bigger than Lisa and Jennie in the west?

  • The blonde songstress might be another in the long line of super popular blonde singers in the west. Was APT a fluke or a sign of things to come?

Jennie and Lisa are limited by their concept in the west. They will always be viewed as derivative by mainstream American audiences. What Rose' is doing feels more like a fresh take

  • Everyone has a chance with a hit song.

Because no one in K-pop will be able to produce what Rosé just did in a week a second time. Not even Rosé herself.

Now, I’m just praying that Rosé’s main track doesn’t get too overshadowed by “Apt.”

Because this hit song seems endless. :pepe-just-smile:

    One take One shot 🍻

  • Anyone who thinks Lisa will achieve anything in the usa outside two weeks vacation on hot 100 is delusional.

She can't sing and you have to sing live, which she never will, to promote and make yourself known. Americans are not like kpop stans who dgaf, they will never take her seriously. The fact that she never promoted any of her singles while expecting good results shows how arrogant and delusional she is. Releasing one song every 3 months, hide and lipsync every performance(and no, fast talking lyrics while not singing parts where you actually have to sing doesn't mean she performed it live) isn't gonna last long. She will be done in less than 5 years post blackpink disbandment unless her bf marries her which I doubt he will.

Jennie has more chances because she did promote and sing live on talk shows, but everything depends on songs and her stamina. She will never be the a lister because it would mean she would have to work hard, so will be like Jenners and Hadids if she makes it. Or Rita ora at best lmao

Now Rose has the best shot at winning because she can sing but again, everything depends on a song and I don't have high hopes because her taste sucks. Her fans better not be too arrogant because other two fans are waiting once she releases her solo song and doesn't have Bruno to help her

  • She MIGHT, but she still needs to be able to make the jump that so far no kpop artist has been quite able to do, which is shrug the "kpop superstar" tag.

So far all the solo'ists that have snapped at the edge of being the biggest (Jennie, Lisa, Rose, Jungkook etc) still get the kpop prefix, which limits them into that niche that "normies" still view kpop under.

They aren't a "legitimate" musical artist, they are a kpop one in those eyes. Part of that is the mainstream perception of kpop and kpop artists. Part of it, unfortunately, is probably a racial thing.

I actually think Rose has the potential to be the one to break through this properly and be genuinely recognised as a "pop" star rather than a "kpop star". Musically and concept wise.

  • She have a bigger chance because she is more mainstream, but again, she must prove she can do it alone and deliver many good songs. The chances are small she will be anything else than "a member of Blackpink". It will be even harder for her and the other members when BP are disbanded for good and can't get free promotion from the status BP have even if lives on a couple of years after BP. It's just a murdering competition so anything doing "okay" must be seen as an success.
