As for brand deals; deals are obviously made with companies, not artists. Babymonster had just debuted and they got adidas deal. Aespa got a luxury brand deal after only 3 songs released. Illit got one even before debuting. Brands wants big 4 groups because they have big fandoms. They want to have good business relationship with them. They ofc also care about popular group members (wonyoung for example, eunwoo is more famous for acting than music so I wouldn't include him here), they bring them good money too.

that's because YG had a contract with adidas it wasn't because of baemon themselves. Their older groups had them.

Group brand deals are ok if they have some exposure but individual global deals so early or before debut it's a bit crazy to me. it's more labels reaching those brand or have package deals when the group just debuted.

To be fair, Aespa's second and third songs were Next Level and Savage, hugely successful songs, so while there's definitely an element of them being from a big company, they also would have looked like the next big thing at that point in time.

I was wrong. I googled. According to google, their brand deal started on february 10 2021 and savage was released in October that year and next level in may.

Two songs that were released before the deal were black mamba and forever (that did bad). Big 4 privilege at its finest.
