Back in 2020, Day6 comeback with Zombie but did not promote because Sungjin and Jae had mental anxiety issues. Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon had to keep the Day6 name going with Even Of Day.
2021 came, and Day6 comeback with another album but guess what? It was an unpromoted album as well. The next day, our dear leader Sungjin went on vlive and said he is on the way to enlistment. In the same year, Jae left Day6, and the members all slowly enlist one by one
This was a hard time for Day6 and the fans because Day6 future was so uncertain. The remaining 4 members did renew with JYPE after but still fans were worried.
Sungjin finished military and slowly adapted back to the idol life by having his own YouTube channel. Young K as well was popping his ass being everywhere in variety shows, radio DJ, writing songs for Day6 and other groups. Dowoon and Wonpil finished military dn finally Day6 reunited. Still, future of Day6 was unsure but the members kept reassuring the fans that it's going to be ok
They had a 3 day concert which was sold out. Fans waited for years as Day6 has been on a hiatus since 2020. It was also during this period when their old songs started to rise up the charts. 'You Were Beautiful' which is a 2017 song entered Top 100, and slowly rose to Top 10. 'Time Of Our Life' a 2019 release also rose. Suddenly old songs of Day6 started to top the charts.
March 2024 came and Day6 had their long awaited comeback, and it was receive with much love from the fans and the GP as they charted their entire album in Melon Top 100. Fast forward to end Aug, 'Happy', a B-side also started to rise up the chart after an NMIXX cover went viral.
Right now in Sep, Day6 have their second comeback of the year and holy fk their title track "Melt Down" debut on the Melon Chart at #5, and reached #1 in a few hours. Even had an All Kill before 24h since As of right now me typing this, Day6 has 3 songs in the Top 10, 5 songs in the top 20.
This is so heartwarming to see because the future was fill with uncertainties during their hiatus. It's been almost 4 years since their hiatus till their comeback in 2024, and this was all possible because of Day6's unwavering dedication to their music and their fans.
It's always the scenario whereby BGs go enlist in military and comeback with not much hype as they once did before, but with Day6 it seems like this year has been their biggest year ever. It's also amazing to see how the GP as well has not forgotten about Day6 as seen from their charting.
As for me, I've stan them so for long as some of y'all may even recognise me back in the old forum. I fell in love with their music, their personalities, their hard work and dedication to their craft. I'm so glad to have trusted Day6 and it's only going to be better days to come
