Trot singers are like basically traditional singers in Korea, they make upbeat music but it is not pop. I have never seen and "trot idol" but SM has had lots of Trot and traditional type singers before soooooooooooo?? Does SM not know their own history?

Will we be getting a 'Feel My Rhythm' type of music, but then instead of blending with classical music, now it'll be blending with trot music?
I thought they were already doing stuff with trot, but after a quick check it's classical music and indie music that they have been investing in and a classical label that they have been investing in.

Yeah I’ve read that trot idol will be promoted in SK and Japan!
But I think that trot idol will be instantly loved in SK since gp loves SM so much!

I've hypothesized that 4th gen peaked with Supernova and that we will see something else take over Korean music scene over the next year. Could be 5th gen which will soon come online (Izna, Teddy's NGG, or SM's NGG). Or it could be something different like band music, trot, or this trot idol hybrid concept.

Kim Sohee went to Japan to find an opportunity there and participated in the Trot Girls Japan audition, which she didn't win since the objective was to find someone from Japan, but she did partner up with one of the contestants there to try to figure out what to do either in Korea or Japan
There is no reason for SM to develop a trot idol if the idol will not fly in Japan. Basically it is going to develop an idol group which is palatable both to the Korean trot audience and the Japanese enka audience, which will probably necessitate that it will have at least 1 Japanese member.
