IMHO NGDA by Taemin is the best album of all time among all K-pop soloists’ releases!

We all know that Taemin is one of the best K-pop soloists ever, and he has immaculate discography, but he is much more than his TTs.

From his debut as a soloist he released 3 full albums, 4 EPs, 1 repackage album, 1 full JP album and 3 JP EPs, and his 5th mini-album is a month away from its release!

But his NGDA(Act 1, 2) album is the best in his discography and is the best solo album released by kpop soloists!

Never Gonna Dance Again Act 1:

Criminal MV: very reminiscent of 80th pop sound!

Black Rose live: Very good collab, and seemless blend of soft vocals and rap

Famous(Kr. Version) live at MBC: Another dance-bop that can be played at clubs

2 kids MV: very nostalgic song with nice guitar

Clockwork: extremely rare composition and production- a masterpiece

Waiting for: rich with instrumentals and vocal vocal prowess

Idea MV: Extremely good and unexpected drop

Identity live version: when I listen to this song I ascend to heaven!

Heaven live at Inkigayo: Immaculate blend of choir and Taemin’s powerful voice

Impressionable: another mysterious and scary track!

I think it’s love: a beautiful ballad

Exclusive (Kr. Version): Another bop with good retro sound

Be Your Enemy live version: Wendy and Taemin we need more songs from you!

Think of You MV: Very playful and youthful song, it uplifts your mood!

Pansy(fan made MV): a precious gift for his fans

I’m sorry for Nam Woo Hyun and Kim Sejeong, but their albums don’t stand out at all. Kim Sejeing’s album filled with typical Korean ballads, not captivating at all!

Nam Woo Hyun - too much usage of guitar. It has nice pop rock songs, but again too boring

IU - she has her specific style, and the only song that I like in that album is My Sea! She always plays safe with her voice, not much versatility every time! Production wise also not on the level of Taemin’s album!

For Taeyeon and Key they are R&B and Retro sound queens and kings respectively in kpop for me! I can see those albums to be on greatest album lists, but still production wise Taemin’s album is superior and more versatile

Off the top of my head, my favorite soloist album of all time (in K-pop) is Heize's She's Fine.

I respect your opinion but Sejeong’s door is not even 10% good as NGDA album!

Like there are dark pop songs in this album- impressionable, strangers and waiting for!

R&B songs - Nemo, be your enemy

Electro pop songs- Exclusive, 2 kids

Ballads- I think it’s love

And etc.

Then listen to clockwork, Identity, Waiting for and Idea

If you are talking about the thread about Jimin’s Spotify streams, it was not controversial at all! I just found that his MLS and streams don’t match even by kpop standards, so I asked people’s opinion about that!

As we return for Music- last Taemin’s album Guilty, didn’t impress me at all. I hate that album! I like only tt Guilty!

Other songs were extremely boring, and flat for me!

And one song The Rizzness- I hate this song(since I obviously don’t like hip hop at all)

So it was his weakest work and was not by his standards. It felt rushed out!

Or while I hate Shinee’s Hard tt, I love the album itself.

Like Hard is their weakest tt! But album was impressive(not their best but still very good)

As for Woohyun, I don’t know about his conditions, so I will talk only about music!

If you felt that I badmouthed his work, I’m not!

I just found its production and versatility lacking compared to IU’s, Key’s Taeyeon’s and Taemin’s albums that’s it!

As I’m saying I respect everybody’s opinion and I don’t hate any idol that’s not my job! I’m here mainly for Music and for Discussion about interesting topics

If you hate NGDA album, then it is your choice and I won’t despise you or hate you! I’m sharing my thoughts on different things! So feel free to share your opinion too!

It is better to say that you personally think Taemin's album is really good or one of the best, but claiming it is literally the best out of all existing soloist albums will never be met with unanimous agreement. People have different tastes. I also doubt you yourself have listened to every single soloist albums to even be able to claim anything in the first place.

Of course I didn’t listen to all of the albums by K-pop soloists, not even 10%! You are right about it! And every person will have different opinion, but I can prove my point in different aspects, and if People disagree with it then, I’m not against it! Then they should give their opinion why xyz album is better!

Forgot one thing to say!

Most of my remarks except Politics and Jimin’s thread were about music! So every single comment that I left - hating the song or loving it, was because I love their artistry, so I wrote my opinions about the songs! Nothing less nothing more! I don’t write comments under the threads of artists which I don’t listen!

Taemin is not a soloist (yet), no member of any active group is a true soloist, when they leverage the group fandom.

He is a SolUnit..i.e. 1 member subunit of the group.

The best Kpop album is still IU's Modern Times. It could even satisfy Kpopalypse, a notorious Kpop mocker.

You declaring that kpop group’s soloists are not true soloists is actually worse than me declaring my opinion that Taemin’s NGDA is the best solo album!

And IU is not kpop idol, you know that! But regardless it is her best album without a doubt!

It is her most jazzy album too!

It is for sure one of the best albums(especially for real instruments)!

It starts extremely strong, but to the end of the album you get bored. But I can see why you can call it best album by a soloist!
