I know we like to rag on group names here. Especially 4th gen ones. But what are some group names that are actually good in both superficial ways and meaningful ones. For me it's Girls' Generation. It's a fantastic group name especially for K-pop. They were telling you the 2nd generation is bout to be for the girls and they are them girls. And we're going off of the name only not the history that succeeds or precedes it. I love SHINee and the name now due to the history behind it but if a new group debuted with that name most people would hate it. This is also directed at another group in particular but I won't say the name

I think BTS, Red velvet, Twice, T-ara, Brave girls and blackpink are all good names

Technically girls generation is translated from the korean gg name 소녀시대, but the meaning and success the group has had definitely reflects in their gg name.
True but Sonyeosidae means essentially the same thing

aespa: I love the lowercase styling. It's unique because most groups' names are stylized in all capital letters.
Red Velvet: Memorable, simple, and works with the theme of Red vs. Velvet duality.
BLACKPINK: Same reason as for Red Velvet, pretty much.
ITZY: It just works with what the group is all about. It's also very unique and original.
LOONA: It's romanized to mean "girl of the month," which really works with the whole theme of having twelve members, one for each month in a year. Each member was also initially introduced per month. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but luna is a Spanish word that means moon. It really fits the group's galactic theme.
