LINKS TO WATCH LIVE:
SEMIFINAL 1 - MAY 7, 9pm CEST
SEMIFINAL 2 - MAY 9, 9pm CEST
GRAND FINAL - MAY 11, 9pm CEST
Welcome europop lovers! I know our kpop minds are elsewhere these days ( ), but if you take a quick look at your calendars you can see that May is just around the corner. And of course that means... Eurovision is coming!
This year the shows will be starting from May 7th and ending on May 11th, which means it's a little bit less than 2 weeks left. So prepare your snacks, your drinks, your flags, the glittery hats, megaphones, hamster wheels, cute grandmothers, violins, fireworks and accordions because the europarty is opening soon!
I know we have a good number of Europeans in this forum who like to watch Eurovision, so I'm creating this thread for us to discuss this year's event, songs, artists, predictions for the results, etc as we do every year. But, most importantly, so that we can do watch parties for the 3 live shows!
Eurovision watch parties are definitely among the fondest memories I have after 3 years in this forum and I want it to be a tradition every year
Here is a summary of the competing songs this year, if you haven't listened to them yet and if you fancy having a little spoiler:
And let me tag a few users who were around during last year's watch party
sorry if I forgot anyone
Disclaimer:
There are 37 competing nations in Eurovision this year and as you probably know, Israel is one of them. Of course, there is a lot of controversy surrounding this participation and the song choice. I know this is a very sensitive topic as it touches on politics and it is understandably a very large elephant in the room, but I would like to ask everyone to avoid diving too deep into this subject in this thread specifically, as we wouldn't want our watch party thread to be moved to the politics section or even worse, being closed. If you want to discuss politics please do it in the current events section. : )
