Main reason why I became a stan of KPop is because of the music and the occasional performance I'll watch but for me personally I'm not a fan of seeing Idols act in a Kdrama or just them acting in general. Personally I've never been a fan of pop stars who act any ways the majority of the time it falls flat to me both in KPop and Western pop music. For example I'm happy that BLACKPINK gets to explore different career avenues to expand their brand but if it's not music related whether solo or OT4 music Idc tbqh.
Am I a bad stan if I don't care about what Idols do if doesn't involve music or performing?

Just enjoy it however you want to. I think making an account on akp makes you a stan by itself
Not everyone is lifeless and maybe you enjoy stuff for what it is
I do as much as I can to support my faves whether contributing to their views or streaming on YTM

Actually its much healthier this way. The more kpop fans seem to live vicariously through their faves and worship the ground they walk in, the more batshit they tend to be

That's the ideal way to go about it.
I don't like when stans brag about brand deals, their faves being fashion ambassadors, their faves starting their own agencies, etc. It's all just pretentious and elitist nonsense to me. If you're not actually interested in fashion, beauty, or whatever else your faves promote, what's the point? It's just pointless vicarious living.
In some ways, they're putting unnecessary stress on their own faves to do all sorts of things, but most idols just want to relax instead of doing all this extra stuff.
I joined online K-pop communities to bond with people over the music and the entertainment. It's disappointing to see a lot of people care more about one-upping each other instead.

It's good that your not attached to kpop idols. It makes enjoying kpop more fun when your not obsessed with what every idol is doing.

What makes you a bad fan these days is if you care about music MORE than you care about charts, numbers, sales, data etc.
As a fan, charts and data should be your PRIMARY concern, and being interested in something as basic and pointless as the groups MUSIC more than anything else is what makes you a bad fan.

Idols bust their ass to appear in movies and TV, or to prepare for huge variety shows like Running Man, or to score big endorsement deals, get invited to Fashion Week, and all the other ancillary non music related activities they partake in.
Not sure if folks that totally discount this could be considered a "stan".
