Stolen from a pannchoa comment but it checks out:
Just so you know this company was founded in 2013 by ex-SM A&R Kim Gihyun (www youtube com/watch?v=k4Fm8UTDpQg). Chris Lee once mentioned investing in company to support one of the most talented A&R, Kim Gihyun, to support his genre company. He seems to be still on good terms with Min Heejin to the point that BANA is in charge of music production of ADOR, with FRNK being the main music producer of NewJeans (with a sprinkle of MHJ's tasteless music taste). The company was initially thought to be a one-man agency for E-Sens since he was the first artist of the company and he signed with them following his issues with Choiza and Gaeko and contract termination with Amoeba Culture (once the largest hiphop label in Korea). However, later they signed more artists and E-Sens left the company in 2022. The company also includes:
Beenzino: needs no introduction but an unfamiliar information is that he wrote the lyrics for ETA
XXX: a famous hiphop duo (I recommend 승무원 despite its controversial lyrics) that includes Kim Ximya and FRNK
Kim Ximya: used to write raps for Red Velvet during their rookie days, rap-maker of New Jeans and he also wrote the lyrics of Super Shy and Cool With You. He also worked with NCT, EXO and Shinee when he was under SM.
FRNK: main music producer of NewJeans.
250: a rising and extremely talented artist. He composed nearly the whole discography of NewJeans. His own stuff is distinct from their sound and he sounds better than them at least to my ears. You can check out his 뽕 album. He describes his sound with that word 뽕 (Ppong) and that is his genre.
Masta Wu: signed with the company after YG scandals
Eric Oh: graphic designer/animator who is famous for f(x)'s 4 Walls.
Hence, this company is basically a collection of SM people who fled Lee Soo Man. And, in fact, currently the weird competition between NewJeans and aespa is due to ex-SM people figting with those who didn't leave (not HYBE vs. SM competition, even though that adds to the fuel).
