How do you feel when fans tell kpop artists to rest?

  • Not quite sure what context they say it. Maybe if a kpop group has been really busy, maybe had a just had a comeback and then also recently announced that they are going on a world tour.

And fans are like "they need to rest"

I have once heard that members of one group don't like being told that.

And it is a group that seems to be working hard.

Now I think of it. It kinda reminds me of when I'm at work and working 2 hours (which is of course little in comparison), and my co-workers are like "You need a break right now". Even though I don't mind working without a break.

EDIT: Oh wait, I can kinda relate to being busy, like if it was like back when I went to school and maybe had to do a lot of homework and stuff and feeling like "When is the next holiday going to be?". But thank goodness, my work doesn't involve me doing that kind of stuff.

  • i always think it's annoying and kinda stupid like if someone says that to me i'd be like don't tell me what to do

because most people don't really understand what kind of work it is that other people are doing and need to get done

    especially with kpop idols

and it's not like they can really choose not to work anyways

  • I mean as a fan I'd love for my artists to rest if they were NON STOP busy, but I think the artists themselves may or at least should know their limits if they don't feel burnt out or tired who am I to tell them to take a break.

I just hope that all of my faves are enjoying themselves and are stress free.

  • It’s absurd. Idols are highly skilled & trained individuals who have been preparing half their life for the vocation they are doing.

No one told Lebron or Messi when they were young, “please get some rest and take care of yourself. I’m worried.”

This kind of thing is usually focused on the girls.

The difference between the two comparisons is the sports industry has multiple levels of regulations, laws, rules etc and western culture prioritizes individual above all else. The total opposite exists in most of Asia, and the idol industry has gained a reputation of having slave contracts and very shit agencies that misuses and abuses their talents from the old sm entertainment to all the spire and hook entertainments out there. Plus the toxic cultural mindset of hard work means you are doing well, that saturated our society where you'd have people work themselves to death or injuries that are entirely avoidable, there's been countless documented cases of idols working with a broken leg in a cast etc when they should be resting among other things like that. THAT'S where this trend comes from where fans tell them to rest, it didn't stem from some toxic controlling mentality it originally came from geninue concern about their physical and mental well-being.

  • I totally depends on the context.. it's important to recognize that fans telling K-pop artists to rest usually comes from a place of concern and care for their well-being. K-pop idols often have demanding schedules and rigorous training regimens, which can take a toll on their physical and mental health. Fans expressing the need for artists to rest are advocating for their health and longevity in the industry. It's a reminder that behind the glamour and success, artists are human beings who need adequate rest and self-care to maintain their well-being.

  • It means, they care, that's all. Simple as that! Fans knows how toxic this industry is, especially some companies. I remember when Moomoos did that with Mamamoo when they released 4 albums in 1 YEAR! They were so happy seeing their fans care about them.

Anyone who says, it's toxic, or it's bad or fans should stop saying it, because Idols are made for this, they have to endure everything, I'm sorry, but that person is a moron.

I don't really have a problem with it, but idols are adults too and they know when to rest and when they have days off. So fans shouldn't worry too much or demand them to rest.

That's not true, not every Idol is adult, most of them are teens! And most company don't want to give them time to rest. They literally force them to work every day, not to mention the beauty standards.
