Power is one of Yoongi favorite songs. RM used to say his dream was to produce for Kanye. About Drake, Hobi famously did the In My Feelings dance challenge, he’s even in the video.

Anyway Ye is an indie artist now, he doesn’t have the push major artists have but he still managed to top AM and Spotify. He’s uncancellable and because of that, yes, he’s a threat for the music industry but I don’t think he’s a competition for any BTS member release.

Also, I’m not American and honestly, if it wasn’t for Jin recommending her and TikTok I would not be able to tell 1 Taylor Swift song (thank you UMG for helping me get rid of her). And I live in the west so I have zero problem believing you don’t know Kanye or Drake songs.

I don’t believe it has to do with where we are from but the music we’re into. Someone who is into hip hop would definitely know a Kanye or Drake song even if they don’t like them or live outside the USA. I barely know Swift, Justin Biebet or Harry Styles songs despite living in their main market + all their YouTube ads/Tiktok heavy push simply because I’m not into this kind of music.

I don't know everything every BTS member has ever said, sorry . BTS members are constantly recommending songs and talking about inspiring artists. They probably have some good songs, but somehow it never really landed with me. Don't know any people who are big fans as far as I know of either of the two, so was never recommended any music by them either.

I do know some Taylor Swift songs, but I get where you're coming from.

i'm not surprised tbh, ppl can say what they want about kanye but he is still one of the most popular artists in the world. whenever i check the spotify artist chart he is usually in the top10. 3 albums in as many months is overkill though

He's also one of the most gifted. He brought conscious rap back en vogue (during an era where gangsta rap reigned supreme) and inspired the next gen...Drake, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, etc.

It's likely that, if I hear some of his songs, that I recognize it. There was a period in my life where I did not listen to North American music at all and I think that was when he was rising.

I reside in Asia country, English pop is not mainstream by any mean.

All his albums from Late Registration through to Yeezus are amazing albums, not going to lie. Some are among the best hip hop albums ever created.
I didn't like Life of Pablo much and he lost my more with each subsequent release.

But it's him personally, his opinions and the things his done and said that drove me away completely and I can't in good conscience follow him anymore.

And it shouldnt matter in the charts, just support your group the best way you can and be proud of their achievements.
