i don't think they need to change that much. a lot of their songs are not overly cute. wouldnt be weird if idols in their late 20's sang attention, hype boy, eta, ditto etc. only supershy and omg would be a bit iffy.

Yes because they have already proven that in their debut EP alone. All 4 songs on the EP were very different from each other. The concept, the genre, the styling, etc. None of it was the same thing repeated. They took a risk.

Something JYP never did with Twice until Fancy 4 years into their career. They kept that cute concept even when the members themselves were all over the age of 18. And they still did a few cute concepts even later on in their career with songs like Scientist, despite the members admitting they wanted to show different sides of themselves in interviews. Clearly they were over that.

NewJeans on the other hand has shown that they are capable of changing up their concept and sound while still holding on to the essence that made NewJeans stand out which is nostalgia and girlhood.

The team behind NJ made sure from the beginning that the group isn’t going to be pigeonholed into a box like cute, girl crush, teen crush bc it’s bound to get old and aging like milk with how fast trends change.

And the name NewJeans itself explains that they aim for a sound that people won’t get easily tired of and that they always strive to do diverse things in the future.

Lastly, I trust Ador more when it comes to thinking outside of the box and taking a risk. JYP never did that. He always followed what was trending to play the game safe but was never the trendsetter.

What ? Twice's old concept is fun, their old MVs are still getting views

NewJeans have much more variety 1.5 years into their career and their music is already more balanced across ages.
